In to replace Sultan Aliev is undefeated prospect (6-0, all KOs) Mike Perry to face off with the Korean Rumble Johnson Hyun Gyu Lim. Should be a slobber knocker ending in a KO for one of them.

Nice. Lim has heavy hands, obviously the newbie does, as well.

Kim's first fight under the IV ban I believe. If he handles the cut okay I think it'll be Lim by early KO.

Perry is cool, hope he has a full training camp. Even if he loses he should still get another fight in the UFC.

Going to post my thoughts on the guy from another thread, because post-whoring and what not.

Found one of Perry's recent fights, can't say he looked that good tbh. Didn't move a whole lot, carried his hands low, didn't move his head at all, threw single shots most of the time. Most of them were kicks to keep the distance and the punches he threw had a lot of wind up.

Haven't seen anything of Lim though, so I don't know if he has the speed or movement to punish Perry, he certainly has the lenght though. He's 6'3 and Mike is only 5'10. Perry is training at ATT (according to tapology) so he might have improved from that fight.

    The fight:

Thanks for that. Never heard of the guy let alone seen him fight. What you describe him as kind of sounds like Lim though. Crowding his opponent and looking to throw single power shots. I think someone is gonna get knocked out for sure. Since their styles are very similar but Lim is much bigger I think I'll take him by knockout.

Taking Lim too because of that, the reach will be a problem for Mike. Can't really see the fight going past the first round.

I admit that I thought Lim would have a higher ceiling than his record indicates but it seems he has plateaued in terms of skill and fight IQ. Very few WWs, let alone Asian fighters have his physical measurables but he just never evolved from his brawling style and will always lose to a more technical fighter. Considering he started out as a boxer, he doesn't use his height/reach to his advantage and has little to no head movement or use of feints, instead prefers to just slug it out in close quarters in hopes of using his prodigious power & knee strikes to take out his opponent. That will work against cans and lower tier fighters and in all likelihood, he will prove victorious against Mike Perry at UFC 202 but he's nothing more than a Korean Erick Silva. Entertaining fighter when he's on but never will be taken as a serious contender.

Lim hasn't been the same since Tarec.

A prime example of wars taking their toll. He's 32 btw.
