News UFC signs former KSW champ Jakub Wicklacz and interim champ Robert Ruchala.

So, just to get this straight, they signed the guy who lost to Salahdine Parnasse but they won't sign Salahdine Parnasse?

Also, Jakub has fought a guy called Sebastian Przybysz (12-3-1) 5 times in his career going 1-3-1. You don't see that often.

Parnasse is probably making 10x what he's getting thats why. And he's 3-1-1 against Przybysz

Good signings from great A+ level org. It’s a little funny how both Joanna and Gadelha have the same job in their respected regions.

They still test. USDADA was just replaced with another company. Stop spreading misinformation
They send out a piece of paper with a yes or no question asking if fighters are taking PEDs, yes.

That thicc JJ has me like

UFC should be banned from signing anything other than light heavyweights and mostly heavyweights for the next half decade. Wasn't there only like 30 HWs on the roster while the manlet weight classes are just overloaded? Midget divisions killed the UFC. Bring back WEC and relegate all the cruiserweight is loserweight fighters back there where they belong. How are you supposed to main event if u cant slam the big slow or andre the giant?

Looks like Joanna in her new role as a fighter agent got them both in. Should be two really fun additions.

Wicklacz left KSW as Bantamweight champ with three defences and Ruchala left as interim Featherweight champ and the only guy he's ever lost to is Salahdine Parnasse who's probably a top 5 featherweight in the world.

Good to see them pick up more names from other major promotions. They probably lowballed them a bit but they're definitely paying these guys a lot more than 12/12.

Glad about this.

Polish talent has been few and far between, but yet compete at an undeniably high level in promotions like KSW.

Let's see what these guys can do, and I hope there's more to come.

how do you know that?
maybe the dude is under a long contract.

KSW is dying
Their moves are recently stupid as f. Like who the hell offers 500k contract to retired 40yo Oktagon veterans. + add up another potential Hall vs Pudzanowski. Thats+- 2mil + euro for "exhibition fights". Which seems absolutely ridiculous to me.

3-1-1, 1-3-1 makes it look like Wiklacz was the one getting outclassed.

For Salahdine I think it's just a money thing, KSW isn't willing to let him go easy and he's not willing to take a paycut for no reason. Doubt Ruchala was making anywhere near the same cash, and he's clearly going to get blocked from the undisputed belt by Salahdine for as long as they're both in KSW so making the jump made more sense for him.

I don't know who these guys are but this was a fun video. Already more promotional chops than 80% of the roster.

Yeah but USADA's a thing of the past so nobody gives a hoot about testing anymore.
I suspect you're right. The UFC went with IMO a sus 3rd party testing company (Drug Free Sports International, DFSI). I mean their headquarters is in Kansas city for crying out loud.

From what I understand, all the samples are still sent to WADA accredited labs, which is how the UFC gets away with the NSAC not doing its own testing. However, all the sample are anonymized so the lab can't be required to report PED failures to the NSAC (which was an argument that was happening under the old USADA system).

So now DFSI are likely completely bound by an NDA with the UFC, so the UFC get to decide which drug test results to send to athletic commissions. This basically creates a two-tiered system that allows UFC stars to effectively get away with doping.

We can only hope that someone at DFSI has a conscience and blows the whistle one day.

Okay hold up your horses. Some thought Patchy Mix could be a Top-5 BW also :D

Let's see how these guys do. They both look solid but we all know there are levels to this.

Bro nobody can say stuff like this going forwards after Patchy "might be the best BW in the world" Mix got absolutely handled by Mario Bautista in his debut lol.

I think it is often a mistake to make sweeping assumptions of the levels of incoming talent.

Some will sink, some will swim.

Jiri came from Risin and won the UFC title.
Will Brooks came in as a Bellator champ and I think went 0-3.
Gaethje came from WSOF and delivered at a pretty high level of excitement and star power.

Izzy and Alex did great things coming from kickboxing backgrounds. Many other crossovers have had a rough time.

Point is that individuals will have varying degrees of success coming to the UFC.

Plenty of guys have come from "B leagues" and done great, and plenty have gotten their asses kicked.

I'm happy to see the UFC going this route and hope they do this more. I'll take this over DWTNCS any day.

Ruchala is booked against William Gomis at UFC Paris
