Sean Loeffler signed with the UFC in 2011, but just minutes before his official UFC debut fight against Buddy Roberts, Loeffler sprained his ankle and was forced out of the fight. Fast forward a few weeks later, and his profile is removed from the UFC website and he is presumed to be released.

One would think Loeffler's management would have tried to stir up something in the MMA media had he been released simply due to an injury, but there was never anything. It's a pretty crappy deal for a well-traveled veteran like Loeffler to finally get called up to the UFC, but then get released without ever being given a chance. There is something missing to this story...anyone have any info?

UFC does not want to sign damaged goods before they make their debut in the cage. Especially when you add the "cage jitter" to that.

He will have to heal from his injury, have one fight in a minor organization just to show that he is 100% and still as good as when the UFC originally sign him, and more than likely the UFC will resign him again.

Lets be honest, sustain injury minutes before the event is amateurish. As a professional you should know your warm up limits. I dont think the cut surprises anybody.

Well, he fucked up his ankle pretty damn bad so I'd expect him to be out for a bit of time.

Maybe he retired or some other stuff got in the way.
