I don't get it. All I've been reading and hearing from UFC Unfiltered, Anik and Florian, Heavy Hands, and Luke Thomas how much Mike Perry has been evolving and getting better as a UFC fighter (before getting Ponzi'd) and even before the Max Griffin fight (he was supposed to be the sacrificial lamb).
Call me crazy, but Perry looked like he has regressed as a fighter. Sure he took Max down, but his back control and submission skills are woefully inadequate.
Striking wise, he still hasn't learned to cut off the cage, he doesn't set up his strikes, all he throws are single shots coming from the same angles and speed, no defense because he doesn't Perry (pun intended) or slip anything.
Fight IQ is non existent, goes for TDs when he needs a KO in the 3rd round. Again call me crazy, but I truly believe Mike Perry has actually regressed as a fighter. IMO I think he gets cut in 2018, unless the ufc brass gives him a softball of a match up.
