UFC did exactly this in the Holly Holm / Rousey situation. First they lobbyed for an instant rematch. All the top comments on UFC facebook was negative towards a rematch. Later they sent out test baloons on Holly vs Tate, comments where more positive and later on the match was presented and official.

Now here is our chance to state our opinion on McGregor situation. UFC has asked the fans on what they want. Let's lobby for McGregor staying in 145 and taking on a challenger in his own division. Like those type of comments if you agree.

*Edit* Just realized title sounds stupid.

I'd prefer the Frankie in New York fight but I'm happy with Nate vs Conor.

I dunno, its close for me. I expected the Frankie fight but am not too mad at Diaz 2 either, all the drama is in place, conor is one of the most active fighters anyway and contrary to popular opinion its the type of fight that deserves a rematch.

The more I think about it, the more I think that Conor fighting to many times above 145 will result in him not being able to make the cut. I honestly believe that Conor has a window of being able to make 145 that is closing. Have him defend the damn belt which he so covets, this fighting at other weights and keeping the FW division hostage is worse than that Cain Velasquez shit because Conor's actually fight ready

What the fuck is a test balloon? Like the shit that crashed at Roswell?

They aren't going to put Conor on the shelf until November.

Aldo.

He hasn't got the ability to win at lw, should solidify his best win and leave no doubt he is better than the fw goat.

I can't find this test balloon. Give me a link please. I want to leave my opinion.... It matters.

I think conor should defend his title next also. But I'm a big nate diaz fan and I'm not gonna lobby the ufc against giving him another big payday.

I thought they were sending out balloons for Diaz to piss in and you wanted us to tell UFC brass not to do it

Hoping for Edgar/Mcgregor but Conor would never accept that. He needs to hold his 145 belt hostage and hold on to his weight excuses when he gets destroyed yet again..

Why?

Is ita trial ballon or a kind of reverse psychology, where they anticipate a negative reaction for whatever they put out first, so put out the thing they don't want..and then they end up getting what they preferred with the public thinking they won.

If that is what a trial balloon is my apologies.

I think a test balloon or baloon is what zombies use to take their driving test in to get their license

Funny, I posted a question the other day on here about why the UFC doesn't throw out polls or Youtube promo videos for various fight options and got a few negative comments. Good idea for UFC to do this kind of thing obviously. Bigger the fan response the more $ they stand to make.... plus they could fire the no doubt over-paid Joe Silva and Sean Selby lol.

I hope for mcgregor vs don anjos if not that one id like to see him rematch aldo

It's most likely a negotiating technique, I expect Nate is asking for more than they are willing to pay, and the UFC are floating other options to hint that the biggest payday in his life could go elsewhere.
