UFC running the sport into the ground!

Pride used to announce cards about 2 weeks before an event.

The UFC & Pride were the same when it came to "boring" fighters, The UFC got rid of Matt Lynland for some lame sponsor reason and Pride didn't even want him, despite the fact he was ranked number 2, in the world and an Olympic medalist (they signed many 0-0 olympians) and they were having a GP in his weight class.

Sean Sherk went 2-0 in Pride snd they ditched him because he wasn't exciting enough and may have been sble to beat guys like Gomi & Sakurai

The numbers and revenue when all said is done will speak for itself.

Zuffa is smart. I doubt RDA is injured. The headlines and press they'll get from this story of "RDA pulling out" will only increase the attention of this match when set at a later date.

So Zuffa would rather make money later than make it now? They would rather invest all the money they invested in the promo of this fight just to see the fight go down the toilet. And did you actually say increase the attention? A Conor fight gets the full weight of the Zuffa promo machine behind it. You cant get any more attention than this

I wouldn't pull out of a PRIDE fight, ever!

The UFC has turned the sport of MMA into a sissy sport. Fighter now fight safe and instead of going for the finish they point fight. Time to fire Dana White and restructure the UFC!

The UFC win/loss ranking/pay system is killing the sport! In PRIDE the fighters faught regardless of injuries because the company rewarded heart and effort. If you let it all in the ring and were entertaining you were invited back. Now the UFC structure encourages fighters to pull out for any little injury because one loss can make or break your career and paycheck.

PRIDE was better, long live RIZIN!!!
There was more incentive to fight Conor then with almost any fight in MMA history.

That is an idiotic claim. I don't know anyone who was more excited for Aldo vs McG by the time it finally happened. All of the extraneous buildup, the cancellation, and another round of hype only turned people off. Still epic fights either way, but in no way enhanced by last minute cancellations.

I'm not speaking of Aldo McG now am I. Did you care to notice how much revenue they put into building this RDA/McG "superfight" and compare that to the buildup with Aldo?

I bet when they re-announce this match-up it will be hype galore with media

What money did they invest? It was didly build up compared to his matchup with Aldo. They already sold out the casino so their gate money has been made.

They will get free press from all the media outlets regarding this news rather than having to make another 5 min preview video for youtube

So yes to all your questions

Fighter safety/health is the most important thing to us.

Dana's infamous "do you wanna be a f**ken fighter" totally agrees with fighter safety brah.

We can't allow another Mayweather - Pac scenario happen especially in the UFC. Pac had a dislocated shoulder going into the fight, lied to medical, and of course he lost. How is that fair to the fight fans? We don't believe in allowing our fighters to fight with broken appendages.

Don't even mention UFC in the same breath as MayPac. When the UFC starts paying its roster Mayweather money then you can make the comparison. The only reason Mike Goldberg is still calling UFC fights is because Vince McMahon made Dana write a blank check to keep Mike in the UFC.

The Goldberg thing was a long time ago (11 years) and all sides have moved on.
He also was not offered a "blank check", he was offered a bonus to no show a UFC event.
Weird that Dana did not hold a grudge against Vince for that!
