UFC put 7 fights on main card, they knew bethe was no match...

Let's face it, even the UFC didn't believe in Bethe Correia. The reason they put 7 fights on the main card is because they knew the main event wouldn't last long, they knew Ronda was going to win. Just look at the betting favorite, look at how Bethe earned her title shot, listen to Ronda's fanboys arguing that a third match against Tate wouldn't have been better, all of these points out to what I'm explaining : Bethe Correia was meant to feed Ronda's record. It's a new name on the list, a new head on the board. Much better than another fight won against Miesha Tate (or any other rematch).

But there's more proof, they were so sure of the mismatch, that they wanted to add fights to the card so the buyers wouldn't feel ripped off after seeing Rousey destroy (super sloppily) some under-achieved and non-deserving fighter, that only has the credit of owning a name which wasn't on Ronda's record, yet.

At least, this is how I view the 7-fights mystery of UFC 190, perhaps people have other explanations? Or counter-examples? Either way, tell me if I'm wrong, it's my analysis.

 

144 had seven fights as well. Without them there I think they would have had to have waited until November.

Well yes, I was expecting people to post counter-examples, but I do believe the reasoning behind these events could be different...or the same.

A way to attract the Japanese fans seems like the answer, which isn't quite the same as making sure your fanbase doesn't feel ripped off because of lightning fast main events.

 

Of fucking course they knew she was going to get smashed. Along with all of us, everyone who streamed, bought the PPV, everyone in the arena, Bethe's corner, and her mom and dad.

Do we agree on the conclusions : that the UFC is trying to build up her record, which makes her a paper champ? That the UFC is primarily about hype and selling at all cost, than bringing real ultimate fights (atleast when it comes to Ronda)?

It was a 7-fight main card because the TUF finale was bumped from the Romero vs Machida card due to Visa issues and was contractually obligated by Globo to be on television.

 

But this doesn't explain why they chose UFC 190...

 

She's a manufactured champ. WMMA is basically a joke.

If you paid to watch Ronda fight, you're a moron. If you paid because you wanted to see all the other fights, you might feel like you were entertained. Sort of.

I actually enjoyed the card, wasn't incredible or comparable to 189 but it wasn't a terrible card.

And they needed to have the TUF Brazil finals due to them being cancelled back in June due to visa issues. There isn't another show down there until November and they could not have them fight elsewhere see the visa cancellation months ago.

They actually tried to have it in America but had visa trouble with the fighters. They have to have it in Brazil and the next card is not until November.

umm yes it does. They had visa issues. UFC 190 was in Brazil.

they put the Brazil finale fight on this card because it's the only card that was this close to ufn 70 and in Brazil. Globo wanted it on this card because this was a big card in Brazil

 

You guys are right, I wasn't aware of the news because I didn't follow anything concerning UFC 190's actuality*. I should have, it would've helped me. Still, I maintain that Bethe clearly had no place in the octagon with Ronda, and that they only fed her to Ronda because it's a new name on the list, to build up that record.

*and honestly, I can live with that.
