Rankings are based on FightMatrix; if a fighter wasn't listed on a champion's resume, the most likely explanation is either the fight didn't take place at the corresponding weight class, the fighter wasn't ranked in the top ten, or the fighter was removed from the rankings due to inactivity.

Except for Gomi, they nailed the GOAT of every division. (Gomi was awesome, but I'll rank him below Khabib).

The thing with Gomi is that he has fought 52 times and the last 19 fights of his career weakened his legacy; if Gomi had retired after the same number of fights as Nurmagomedov, he would've left the sport with a 26-3 record, which looks a lot better than his current one.

GSP is the GOAT...

Of shaved pits.

Despite all his accomplishments Gomi feels like an outlier here. LW doesn't feel like it has any definitive goat, and I feel that the guys with the top wins in all the other divisions in their primes would still be either the best or at least within the top 3 today save for Gomi and perhaps Fedor (heavyweight isn't exactly brimming with talent today, I'd feel less confident in Fedor making it if Cormier were still at HW), but Fedor's accomplishments across such a long time is more impressive to me than Gomi's prime run, especially considering the lopsided loss to BJ near the beginning of that run. I don't think a lot of the fighter each beat would be top fighters today, but the heavyweight division is more forgiving in terms of its' evolution throughout time than LW.

Damn Vitor wasn't ranked in the top 10 when Anderson beat him?

Nah, he'd just come of 18months injury hiatus with his last fight at 195 against Franklin, and his only ever 185 fight against an aging Lindland over 2 years prior in Affliction (oh and Terry Martin before that). It was Vitor's first fight at 185 in the UFC.

He still fought in a much weaker division relative to the other fighters. LW wasn't one of the most stacked divisions back then.

Jones is probably gonna retire with at least 15.
