A one time deal??? Sounds like bullsh!t to me.

Not to worry, fiscally concerned MMA fan. The price hike for UFC 168 is a one-time deal.

UFC president Dana White confirmed on Saturday night that the cost for the upcoming pay-per-view is, in fact, getting a $5 increase, but other pay-per-views going forward will go back down to the normal price.

I don't care how expensive it is! Mixed Martial Art's is my life ill watch it no matter what.

Without GSP around for probably the next year, expect more price hikes to make up for the lost PPV and gate revenue.

As someone else said, mixed martial arts is my life.

I don't really see the point in a one-time $5 price hike. I hear a lot of buzz about people not buying the card because of it. I'm still buying, but if you factor in people that don't buy for that reason, the profit margin is going to be approximately the same, except you have a bunch of people pissed off about it.

Wait a minute....I thought Dana said we weren't supposed to judge cards before they happen. Does he think that this card is going to be awesome, and that's why the price is being raised?

Anderson probably got a king's ransom to get in the cage with Weidman again.

This pisses me off considering that most of the world gets these events for free. But most people probably won't notice.

I don't get this at all. it just makes Zuffa look greedy and even if the PPV sells 1M, that is only a couple of million more to Zuffa based on their split of PPV sales.

meanwhile, you annoy your regular fans.

and all this despite that fact that their product is easily obtained for free.

I must be missing something because it is not like Zuffa hasn't thought this through

Get a couple more friends bro

this. that said if the trend continues...

Just based on principle alone, this makes me think twice about ordering this event. I'm not a cheapskate by any means, but this type of disrespect annoys me. They know how badly people want to see the rematch, so they squeeze the fans a little more. If you really think they'll stop at just one, you're fooling yourself. This is like a beta test. Will people still pay even if its a little more money? People will, the increases will begin to happen more frequently, and eventually it will no longer be an increase, that will just be the price. It's a business, I get that, but it just annoys me.
