Not sure if it's been posted on here but I saw this on ESPN.com and wanted to share. It's a never ending story about fighter pay and how much boxers get paid. We know the top dogs get paid good but what about under card fighters. Here is the break down of Saturday Nights pay outs on the Jaun Manual Marquez vs Timothy Bradley fight.

http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/post/_/id/5891/purses-for-bradley-marquez-card

Ufc pays out peanuts. And the fighters are lucky to get that. Dana needs a new beach.house and.ferari.

Umm... what?

Barnett and Mir earned more in their last fight than everyone but the headliners on the Bradley/Marquez card.

Nobody knows what Pettis and Bendo made.

sounds like the same beside the main event when you compare boxing and MMA pay

No. We know what Pettis made. He made 27k to show. 27k to win. Bendo made 110k. 155lvs champions.

How much is Marquez and Bradley making? Lol

So what do qualified amateurs get for their first fight in the UFC?
There is no qualifying amateur program in MMA.

The equivalent is being a champion in another MMA organization.

So, basically, whatever Hector Lombard/Gilbert Melendez got paid.

You have to be completely fucking retarded if you think Pettis made that little.

Again, nobody has any idea what the champions in MMA make.

Remember, lyoto machida made a reported 329k against Randy Couture at UFC 129.

http://www.mma-manifesto.com/ufc-fighter-salary-database/salary-main/ufc-129-fighter-salaries.html

When the UFC asked him to take a fight on short notice against Rashad Evans at 133, Dana White balked at Machida's "request for anderson silva money".

http://mmafrenzy.com/19118/lyoto-ma...silva-money-to-fight-rashad-evans-at-ufc-133/

This, despite the fact that anderson's reported salary was 200k.

The reported main event salaries are complete bullshit when you combine the facts laid out in those 3 articles.

You have ufc champions barely making 100k a fight where in boxing making 1 million+ for a main event fighter is common.

Bravo to Dana and the Fertitas. They are quite the capitalists.

Locker room bonuses brah. He made millions in locker room bonuses. Ok. Fine. Lets say Pettis made 27+27 + another 80k in locker room bonuses. That still isn't all.that much compared to other main eventers in boxing.

HEy at least they are paying better than any other MMA org. You guy's sound like if MMA has been around longer than boxing has.

Not really. I'd say the equivalent would be being an exceptional amateur wrestler. Getting Lomachenko is like getting Jordan Burroughs, right now.

Every major competitor to the UFC is gone for the most part. The UFC is built on a stable financial model and has survived because of this. They can't copy the boxing model because they put more fights on a card for one, and for two the amount of PPV's as well with all those fights also included now is the UFC in the cable market as well. Also it isn't discussed how much these fighters make from sponsorship as well which wouldn't be possible if the UFC didn't exist. There is a reason why the UFC is on top.

Unproven commodity. Just ask Bubba Jenkins.

To be fair, it isn't exactly down to the age of the sport. It is the structure and the amount of the revenue that the fighters see. It can be argued that the UFC's structure has been necessary in order to grow the sport in America. In time, I think that it might have to change, but we'll see.

Magnus Cedenblad: $12,000 (includes $6,000 win bonus)
peanuts

Boxing has been around a LOT longer than MMA. MMA is still new and a growing sport.
