UFC on Fox 6 was a freaking awesome free card

The UFC put together one of the best cards (especially for free!!) that I have seen in a long time. The prelims were good and the main event was fucking excellent. I was even impressed with the MM/Dodson fight. Overall I think they are doing a good job with the fox cards and last night was the best one yet.

I enjoyed it. Title fight wasn't mind blowing, and Rampage/Glover was kinda sloppy but a brawl.

Absolutely! We were eating and drinking and I didn't expect this card to be as exciting as it was but everyone in the house was pumped and we had a great time! THanks UFC!

Was a really good card. I mean I honestly thought Cerrone/Pettis coulda coheadlined a ppv or something, being as it was for a title shot. It was a great overall card for free tv, exciting match ups with good fighters, hell Grant/Wiman was on the prelims

In case you guys don't know, UFC on FOX is about as big as a marquee PPV card. They aren't in the same class as Ultimate Fight Nights on Spike or Fuel TV cards.

The quality of the TV cards has risen a whole lot since the Fox purchase. Could wet casual fans appetite for PPV, but I don't mind.

The subpar ratings for UFC on FOX 3 and 4 were the best thing to happen to this FOX deal. The UFC realized they couldn't put a mediocre card together and draw the kind of ratings that FOX was looking for (both of those cards featured excellent fights, BTW, but with no title fights or huge names in the co main or 3rd bout instead of main event...shitty ratings). Last 2 cards have had title fights headlining them, and Bendo-Melendez sets up a 3rd one. Throw in big names like Shogun, BJ, Rampage, Mir, perhaps Vitor against up and coming studs like Gustafsson, Rory, Glover, Cormier and perhaps Rockhold and these cards are incredible.

They've really mastered how to put them together:
155 pound and under title fight
Legends vs. up and comers
Exciting fight(s) on paper to kick off the card

I should add they usually have favorable matchups for the young studs in these matchups vs. legends (Vitor vs. Rockhold would be the exception, so far), which is a great way to build stars. A win over a legend on FOX with an audience of about 4 million people watching is how you get the average fan to know how good these kids are the way the die hard already does.

Yeah. Man every FOX card should be that well put together. FOX 1 was great but the fight was a Dud it wasnt a beautiful knockout it was just 2 HW's in a ring for 2 mins. FOX 2 was a complete disappointment nothing good about that card. Fox 3 was awesome each fight on that main card was great it had everything Heavyweights palhares vs belcher jitz match was the shit i thought that was round of the year hendricks and kos was a good fight thought i was a draw neither fighter really won the fight and Diaz and Miller was great. FOX 4 was amazing as well Shogun Machida the foty in varner and lauzon and mike swicks KO was great. Loved that card. Fox 5 i didnt like Bj's ass whuppin wasnt entertaining is was a jack ass show boating. Alex G and Shogun really wasnt a great match. But the Diaz destruction was fun to watch for me considering how Bendo shut him down the whole fight. Even the bendo diaz stare down was good Bendo is a true champ son.

But this card was 5 Stars 10/10 all four fights and the prelims were good. Two number one contenders were names in the FW AND LW divisions Rampage and Texiera's fight had me on the edge of my seat. And i for one was made a 125 pound division fan last night that was a amazing fight. I think Dodson lost a super close fight and it was entertaining as hell. I have low hopes for the next FOX card but thats just me.
