If thats guaranteed, I would be signing fast. Think he does it? It's hard to tell in the article because the language isnt clear and says he "could." but if it was anywhere north of 300, i would sign it in a second. not sure what his deal with hearn is though at the moment.

of course, that would certainly please the mma guys to know that the ufc is willing to pay that much to a boxer, while giving them nowhere near that.

https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2018/3/...-million-mega-deal-anthony-joshua-boxing-news

Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) is set for a major unification bout with New Zealand’s Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) on March 31st in Cardiff, Wales. This will be the third consecutive stadium show for England’s Joshua, who in just five years as a professional has become one of the highest-paid, biggest stars in the sport today.

This fact is not lost on UFC president Dana White, who is a fan of Joshua and expressed interest in promoting him as part of his planned venture into boxing. Well not only is White reportedly going to attend Joshua vs. Parker, he and his team are reportedly trying to lure Joshua away from promoter Eddie Hearn with a ridiculously lucrative multi-fight offer.

Gareth A. Davies of The Telegraph has the details:

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is making an audacious bid to sign a promotional multi-fight deal with Anthony Joshua which could earn the Londoner $500 million (£353 million) and make him the richest British boxer of all time.

Joshua has become boxing’s biggest star and The Daily Telegraph understands Dana White, the UFC president, will attend his title fight with Joseph Parker in Cardiff on Saturday week and plans to meet with the 28-year-old and his team.

[...]

The capture of Joshua would immediately make the UFC key players and it is thought the Briton could earn $50 million (£35 million) per fight if he switched to them, with the prospect of a multi-fight deal taking him to over $500 million in earnings.

Joshua is expected to earn around $20 million US for the Parker fight, roughly the same as he made against Wladimir Klitschko, plus under $15 million for his most recent bout against Carlos Takam. The expectation is that with a win against Parker, Joshua would face off against WBC champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) in the fall and unify all four major belts, creating an undisputed king of the heavyweight division.

This report comes literally hours after Joshua said that he was “100%” committed to staying with Hearn and Matchroom Promotions, with whom he has a year left on his current deal. Also of note is that the Parker fight is the last on Joshua’s exclusive US TV deal with Showtime, although Hearn recently indicated that Showtime is likely to remains Joshua’s home for broadcast distributions of his bouts moving forward. It’s only logical for it to stay that way, as Joshua moving to HBO would instantly complicate making the Wilder matchup happen.

Well this is certainly unexpected yet nevertheless compelling news, but whether this shock move will materialize is a different story altogether. If it does... then maybe UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will eventually get that chance to face Joshua in the boxing ring.

Oh god yes please.

Spend 500 million on Joshua.

Watch him lose to Wilder.

Go bankrupt and leave boxing the fuck alone.

If he signs for $500 million then here is zero chance he’s fighting Wilder anytime soon.

Dont need Dana fucking up boxing. Piss off.

Here's ya boi watching Wilder vs Ortiz while some Pesants " fight " each other in cage. He couldn't care less about the MMA fight taking place.

{<hhh] .

WME-IMG is driving this deal they are going after boxing in a big way with Mayweather promotions. They have proven they could put on an event with a former UFC fighter and Floyd and draw a worldwide audience and hundreds of millions of dollars this is what talks. Next they want to sign the biggest names in Boxing and create the biggest fighting organization in the world.

Assuming any of this is legitimate, I'd be shocked if Joshua took it. If he plays his cards right and can win in his own sport, then he's looking at two paydays in the ballpark of 100 million (USD, anyway) without risking his legitimacy (and 30+ million guaranteed regardless of who he fights). Those MMA paydays will always be there given the shockingly bad shittiness of HW MMA, but the boxing paydays won't be.

I'd also be shocked if WME was willing to give him anywhere near big enough shares of the revenue to justify those massive numbers. McGregor makes less than $20 million when he generates more total money than Joshua did against Wlad, and you expect people to believe that WME is offering in the ballpark of $500 million to Joshua for what is likely no more than 5 fights? Nah, I doubt it (unless there is legitimate anti-trust legislation or unionization coming in MMA, which I doubt).

Edit: disregard most of this

Wait, is White trying to draw AJ into MMA fights or is he trying to promote boxing? If he trying to promote boxing than he has to set up AJ with DW, and try to bring in Tyson Fury once he comes back.

Is WME going to be involved with Dana's boxing promotion?
Far as I can tell this won't involve MMA at all.

If the UFC can get Joshua and Floyd under its portfolio it can probably command the $500m/year network deal with FOX and pay itself back

Yeah, that's my bad, it says ZUFFA boxing, so this has nothing to do with WME or MMA at all, really. Them coming in and offering Joshua that high a guarantee is a bit reminiscent of ROC Nation coming in and guaranteeing crazy amounts.

It's a promise from Dana and a promise from Dana is certain to disappoint everyone involved.

Is Roc Nation still involved with boxing?
Cotto and Ward retired and I don't think they did much of anything with Rigo.

I'm not sure if they're completely defunct, but they're if they're not, they might as well be.

Admirable attempt but ultimately mistaken.

Jay makes the money back with his new album and tour.
No worries there.
