They screwed him when they made Izzy vs Jan happen when Glover was on a tear.

Now Izzy says he intends to defend his MW title after winning the 205 title assuming he wins. Not giving Glover a title shot...

It was not about him, ever.

But yes, every time a fighter jumps classes to the front of the line or any other “fan fav” privilege, someone else gets screwed. Glover has lots of company. Unfortunately.

Edit: except Couture v Sylvia. No one got screwed then. That’s the exception that proves the rule.

Should defend in the summer vs Glover, then fight Whittaker/ whoever the top MW contender is in the winter time.

If they don't have a LHW title fight anytime soon, they will make Rakic (if he wins this weekend) vs Glover which would be very cruel.

Lol c’mon now, we all know the UFC isn’t run like a legitimate sports organization.

Fighters get title shots based off marketability over merit.

As unfortunate as it is, if it makes the UFC, than it makes cents, Izzy is a big name and is on the cusp on Superstardom and could pull good numbers with a Win on Saturday. As deserving as Glover is, not gonna debate that, he doesn't do much for the UFC if he's the Champion, he's almost on his way out so the UFC would rather risk it and cash their chips on the younger and more marketable Superstar than the withered veteran as far as the fight with Jan went.

Nothing against Glover, but the UFC doesn't really give a shit about him, and for good reason, he does nothing to help with the business side of things so him getting dicked over was a pretty easy decision for the UFC unfortunately.

But Glover already lost to a ton of guys that are in Bellator and he’s the #1 contender? Odd thought UFC’s LHW was the best in the world tbh

Yeah, honestly I wish Glover would have gotten the title shot.

The "problem" with Glover is that he's a nice guy. Not into the drama and theatrics.
Unfortunately, these kind of sincere human beings get shit on by the bully Dana.

Glover is too old to make an interesting run at LHW. Even if he won the belt, he wouldn't hold it for long. The opportunity to give Adesanya the push as a double champ is pretty unique, so I think it's understandable in this case to give him the fight rather than Glover. LHW needs some excitement and attention as well, so I don't mind it, Jan and the LHW division will benefit enormously if he wins. The future of the division is gonna be the likes of Rakic, Ankalaev or Prochazka. I wouldn't mind Glover getting a chance after this fight though.

If Rakic & Crute beat Santos & Smith in the next cpl months then Glover's #1 contender case is going to start to significantly weaken.

Hopefully for his sake Santos can sleep Rakic in Saturday.

Glover deserves it and it’s BS he got skipped

Please don’t let Izzy pull a Connor if he wins and hold up a division for years.

Goddamn ridiculous Glover isn’t getting the shot. I’m not sure how much more ass he can kick at 205 and not have the title. After Izzy smokes Jan Glover might as well retire

Glover is probably rooting for Jan this Saturday, sine that would for sure be Jan's next fight

Maybe they'll have him fight for one of those totally relevant interim belts.

I like Glover well enough. Quality veteran. Two years undefeated now with three decent LHW contenders included. It’s impressive. But he’s had lots of shots to break through and lost each time. If there were no other interesting options he’d be a fine choice for a title shot. But it won’t kill him if he needs to fight again first.

If Izzy makes quick work of Jan, it's possible he fights Glover in May or even late April.

He said he is planning to stay in the US for 5-6 weeks to get in more BJJ work with Galvao like he did after doing commentary for the Tyson fight last November.

But if he were to fight again, he would want his head coach Eugene Bareman there. It seems likely that Eugene will be there through the end of March because they have Brad Riddell fighting on March 20 and Shane Young and Alexander Volkanovski fighting on March 27.

If Izzy beats Jan without sustaining any damage, maybe he can convince Eugene to let him take another fight before going back to NZ.

With all the top MW contenders fighting each other in April, Izzy would have to wait until around August to fight one of them. That would push his LHW defense out further. If he is serious about defending both belts, he would have to be more active than that. That could mean fighting Glover on April 24 or May 15.
