Which sport has the better HW division? It is a little alarming that our youngest fighter in the top 10 is JDS at 32. Where are all the young guns at? Where are the up and coming fighters?

I only know 4 HW boxers. T.Fury, Wlad, Deontay, and Anthony. And tbh, I am more interested in seeing who will become number 1 between those 4 (especially Anthony), than I am with MMA's heavywieghts. MMA needs a HW star. Cain was going to be it but injuries and the 2 losses stopped that noise. Ubereem was going to be it but his shrinkage and now boring fighting style stopped that noise. And Werdum just simply isn't fit to spit shine McGregor's shoes.

The boxing world wants Anthony Joshua as the undisputed heavyweight champion. Well, we have our guy as well. Jon Jones. The UFC needs to get their HW star out there in the world first. Jon Jones' fame will reach limits like no other fighter imo. Jones vs DC doesnt need to happen. Nothing in that fight will change. Throw in AJ against Jones and then finally have him move up and give us the long awaited super fight.

It's a race between Jon Jones and Anthony Joshua for HW superstardom.

You want Jones and Joshua to fight? For what, what's the point?

I completely agree that the UFC needs to beef up its heavyweight division, but that's way easier said than done.

lol no. I meant its race to get to the top of their own sport. Jones is already there but HW is where its at when it comes to the most amount of fame one can have.

Both boxing and mma HW's are top heavy, good talent in the top ten but no real depth or prospects.

Jones is a star here, Joshua is on his way to being one in the UK. Jones is the household name.

I was kind of interested until you said the "Werdum just simply isn't fit to spit shine McGregor's shoes" part.

That's when I realized you were one of the biggest retards on Sherdog.

Ya but dont you think Joshua will pass him if he becomes undisputed heavyweight champ and Jones is still at LHW?

I like to throw jabs at Werdum once in awhile. Its just my thing.

No, Wilder is American and the HW champ and he still isn't a star or a household name. Jones is already a star and still young with many years ahead of him to build his brand.

Emotions were high, mistakes were made

Curtis "Razor" Blaydes and Francis Ngannou seemed like good additions

Sir you need to catch a Wilder fight. He's legit. I think most of us in here are bigger fans of MMA than boxing so we would mostly say UFC and maybe we'd be right but they have two guys that are around 27 which is really promising for the future of that division in Boxing, the UFC HW division is really old and needs a lot of young talent to have a good future.

I completely agree that the UFC needs to beef up its heavyweight division, but that's way easier said than done.

..there have been loads of HW kickboxers showing interest(and loads more than liklely would if offered) in switching in recent years, Zuffa hasn't signed any of them though as there not willing to invest in new talent.

The only HW boxer I'd give a chance of beating a UFC HW is Anthony Joshua. That guy is very explosive, and could essentially train TDD for a few months, and land a single shot on any HW, and put them out.

And Jones would take any HW boxer out in 1 Rd. TD, hellbows, ref stoppage, or tap to strikes.

Also, clinch, then suplex. And I could actually see him being effective with his front kicks to the body, and landing a head kick.

What is your obsession with age? And Jones will never go to HW. He just said in a media interview today he is staying at LHW for years to come and that theres plenty of challengers left there listing DC, Rumble, Gus and Glover and OSP this weekend.
