We still have a few crapola cards coming up, nothing can be done with those, but with the recent announcements for new cards, it tells us that the fans and numbers have spoken, and the UFC brass are listening and have put their best foot forward and putting an end to the recent string of lackluster cards.

    UFC - Macau
    Cung Le vs Bisping
    Lombard vs Dong Kim

These two fights are enough for a PPV card alone.

    UFC - Sweden
    Jon Jones vs Gustaffson
Hunt vs Arlovski (possible, still unofficial)

So remember, the best way to protest against poor cards, is to not purchase. This is what has been happening, and immediately we are seeing a change.

Is Gus/Jones a sure thing in Sweeden?

Always glad to see cards getting stacked but I guess I'm in the minority of people who thought the last few cards were excellent. Very entertaining.

That's what I'm sayin. The customer is the boss. And we can fire Dana, and/or direct the company, if we just unite under common cause. Beautiful to see.

Or maybe, much like every year, the cards get better around this time, fade around September, then get better again at the end of the year?

Arlosvki is fighting Schaub at 174
Hunt will likely fight Nelson in Japans card
Gus vs Jones will most likely happen in Vegas

and no, UFC Macau wouldn't make a ppv in a million years

Arlovski is fighting Schaub at 174.
    I don't see how Bisping-Le and Lombard-DHK are better fights than Barao-Dillashaw and Lawler-Ellenberger.

Card quality is clearly what drives big numbers.

Which is why UFC 145 was a smash hit and UFC 166 underwhelmed on pay per view. Right?

I thought Arlovski was matched w/Schaub?

Maybe the rest of the Cung Le card is pure crap? Or maybe they are pushing the envelope with the UFC Fight Pass cards and gradually stacking them a teeny bit more to see if they can break away from PPV for an event or two and pocket all the money themselves?

I'm seriously thinking about getting UFC Fight Pass for the McGregor card and Cung Le/Lombard/DHK card.

You cant deny that those fights are main card worthy. Not main event, main card yes

    WHAT A JOKE!

Firstly, the two examples you've given are pretty much on par with what the UFC has been doing the last two years so I don't find your point to be valid as of yet (not to mention they are unofficial). Secondly, this year so far has had more exciting fights than any other year in UFC history (pro rata). Last year was the same thing. Off the top of my head I think there's been maybe 3 cards that looked weak on paper so far and probably 2 or 3 cards that did not deliver. Ironically, as has long been the case, the cards that look the worst on paper have often been the most entertaining. The last 2 months in particular has been one of the strongest runs in UFC history in terms of card quality, if you actually watched.

2 bad cards out of 17 or so doesn't seem too shabby to me and is certainly not a decline of any sort. Gotta love how us keyboard jockeys who know very little about the UFC's business but always have to pretend like we know better.

Also, I forgot to mention that every time someone makes a thread like this they completely ignore cancelled fights. You CANNOT claim a card is lacklustre on paper when injuries or multiple injuries have changed the card. That is disingenuous since they cannot control injuries and can only do their best in the circumstances, which they do.
