UFC decided to post Ganes second UFC fight on their Youtube channel ahead of his fight with Alexander Volkov on 6/26.

This is Cyril Ganes most violent fight, lots of fighting in the pocket, worth a watch for those who believe he does not have power or the ability to knock out an opponent.

Worth noting his opponent in this fight was 6"6 250, so an inch shorter than Volkov, but with a greater reach.

Not convinced.

I mean compare this fight against Parysian vs Marquez. Night and day, almost difference between God and men.

This is a wierd fight. I got Gane, but wierd because Volkov loses to power, whether it's wrestling or striking. That's the way to beat Volkov for last 10 years. But that's not Gane's game, Gane's game is timing speed and distance and occasional grappling.

I think this is one of those fights where you favour the one guy in Gane, but you think the other guy has a great chance, better than some give him credit for.

In my opinion, Gane might be too elusive for Volkov, and I'm fairly sure Gane will be working for TDs, but Volkov, though he looked like CM Punk against Blaydes, he's not that bad of a grappler. He choked out Ivanov back in the day too, and that was forever ago.
I'm fairly sure Volkov is a better grappler too, but prob worse wrestler.

In my opinion, this isn't a good fight for Gane I think. He might win, but I think at least on paper, match up wise, this isn't a good match up.

He dominated every second of that fight (but couldn't finish lmao)
Well for once I actualy enjoy his pillow fists it's a at least a new thing at HW.
My man Gane will revitalise the division

It’s delusional for anyone to think Gane’s punches or kicks don’t carry much power. All his strikes sound like bombs and he is not even overextending to get a finish.

Props to dude for taking such a beating.

He did finish the fight.

Thats one thing Volkov has to be very careful of. Gane will take his opponents down with fifteen seconds left in a round, when they are not expecting it, and immediately transition into a submission.

He doesn't spend half the round laying on his opponent, he just goes straight for the submission doesn't waste any time.

There's a bum in boxing called Julius Long(18–24–1, 1 NC), standing 7 ft 1 in and having a 90 in reach.

Oh yeah he actualy did at the very end forgot about that

when Gane throws the left hand from the southpaw stance, he's really open to get countered to the head. his head pulls back and his chin raises up almost every time.

he also does shifts at awkward moments. like he used a shift to get a reaction and then immediately ducked into a clinch. it reminds me of Econoreem's style.

Except he did finish.

Also, here's the thing. Volkov has 5 inch leg reach advantage. So there's that too. Gane likes to fight at distance. We will see how it goes but, yeah.

It's one of those fights where you got one guy, but not so sure about the other guy winning.

I just think Gane matches up better against Ngannou and Black Beast than Volkov. Even if he does win, I think on paper, I'd feel more comfortable backing Gane against Ngannou and Black Beast, both punchers.

This is a great heavyweight fight. I love Gane, so I wish they didn't make this fight, personally I believe this is a tough match up for him. Might be the toughest match up on paper, if you ask me.

But who knows, it could be one sided in Gane's favour too. Only one way to find out. But on paper, I think Volkov has what it takes to give Gane problems that Gane might not be able to solve.

It really really depends on if Gane can make Volkov respect his power, and if Gane's defense and elusiveness holds up I think. I think Gane gonna try to mix in takedowns, but I think Volkov is a better grappler, just a worse wrestler, and Gane is no Curtis.

Don'Tale is very raw but you can tell he's got a lot of natural athleticism and once he puts it all together he will be a lot for most HWs too handle.

He was going to fight Tai Tuivasa in March but got injured, that is a fight he very well could have won; hope it gets rebooked.

His first opponent in the UFC was Gane and then he faced a BJJ specialist who submitted him; the UFC has done him no favors with who they've matched him up with. Good though he got a win.

I'm starting to see UFC's poor business practices and pissing off fighter's as a good thing. Rival org's are getting more attention again. Not so much in the U.S., but internationally for sure. I think this will gain traction and force something to give on the fighters behalf.

Sorry to use your post to get up on a soap box, it just got me thinking about it. Like if they alienate enough talent, talent will go elsewhere. And we the fans will go where the best fights are.

The fact that opponents like that are in the UFC just shows what a joke of a division it is.

I favor Gane over Volkov, but there's no question Volkov can win.

A lot of people seem to think its KO or bust for Volkov, but in my view his most realistic path to victory is simply outpointing Gane.

He needs to attack Ganes legs, be willing to trade in the pocket, and go for volume instead of looking to just land big shots.

If Volkov tries to fight Gane at kickboxing range and hesitates when Gane tries to enter the pocket I don't see him making it five rounds.

Theres no way to beat Gane without taking some damage, which Volkov I am sure expects too.

LOL Mayes got tuned up in the last round of his fight against 5'10" Roque Martinez.

Gane is one of the best prospects in ages, but I don't rate this win at all.

I honestly think this fight might suck. Seems like an awkward style match up like Gane vs Rozenstruick
