UFC forcing Maia to fight again so he loses his winning streak

He could pretty much fight Tyron next, Tyron will be ready soon and got 0 injuries from that bs fight against Wonderboy. Maia said UFC told him "If you want any belt you better fight".

They don't want Maia as the champ, so they're forcing him to fight Masvidal so he loses his winning streak and they don't have to bother with a fighter they don't like, doesn't have a "exciting" style and they can't make a "mainstream star" of.

Yes if Maia takes anybody down he'll most likely sub them if there's enough time, but Masvidal is more complete than Maia (except BJJ of course), good wrestling, good scrambling, one of the worst matchups for Maia. Also, very technical with his striking, which is Maia's weak point, so in case he loses by KO/TKO, They'll never give him a title shot even if he gets on another win streak after that.

I like both guys but i don't see Maia winning this one, bet UFC is hoping that Masvidal beats him.

Is clear they want to snap his winning streak, Masvidal is probably the best Welter at the moment, other than Maia himself.

Obviously, he can just get in there and sub him in a minute and then it will be undeniable but they're avoiding letting him and Jacaré anywhere near the belts and is clear.

He has to close distance to get takedowns, which is avoided by throwing punches and kicks, which Masvidal does better than him.

Also, as i said Masvidal is very good scrambling.

Unless Maia really ascended the realms and became the Jiu Jitsu god and can just use telekinetic powers to get hold of Masvidal, it will be hard getting the takedown and submissions.

Matter of fact if he gets reckless going after takedowns he might be stopped

I don't think this is a personal attack on Maia. Lots of people have to stay active to keep their title shot. Very rarely do people pull the "I'm not fighting again unless it's a title shot" and actually get one

I didn't. i'm a longtime fan, Cerrone was an easy style matchup for him.

Also, most here didn't actually know how good Masvidal was, and went with Cerrone cause he was more popular.


Hope ur right cause i'd hate to see Maia lose and not get his TS. But if Mas wins it i'll be happy that he'll finally get a chance of having a major belt on him.
