(C) Alex Pereira vs #2 Magomed Ankalaev (If he beats Rakic) - Hardest fight for Alex in a while without a doubt.... but he is the Biggest star currently in the UFC without a doubt..... That is now 3 title defenses for Alex Pereira and all by finish.... now listen... if Alex goes out there and beats Magomed.... who is surely next for the Title if he gets past Rakic.... who is next if Alex gets done with Magomed the same way he got done Khailil tonight??
#8 Khalil Rountree Jr. vs Loser of #2 Ankalaev/ #5 Rakic - Khalil was on a win streak before this fight even happened and had hype behind him, he was bound to get a high ranked opponent but I think the loser of this match in a few weeks time makes the most sense as it puts them on similar timelines. He did amazing tonight for what was given to him, great heart and I can 100 percent see another title fight for him in the future.
(C) Juliana Pena vs #2 Kayla Harrison - Congrats to Pena, we all know she won't get the Nunes fight and I doubt Nunes comes back. Pena vs Kayla is the fight to make, could make for an interesting presser..
#1 Raquel Pennington vs #3 Ketlen Vieira 2 - Close fight and Raquel loses her belt after just winning it 10 months ago, there isn't much for her other than rematches and the only other match I can really think off is a rematch between her and Vieira that happened early 2023 which was a split decision for Raquel and was an extremely close fight, run it back next year, just please not an Apex Main Event.
#10 Mario Bautista vs #4 Cory Sandhagen 2 - Way to close for Bautista's liking that's for sure, going against someone who is probably Hall of Fame takedown defense. Mario took on Cory Sandhagen in his debut on short notice and lost by first round submission, since then has been on a roll, currently he is on a 7 fight winning streak. This screams Apex Main Event I can't lie, so let's see if Sandhagen can defend that win over Mario and for Mario... not saying he needs a finish but he needs to win some fans over because after tonight... safe to say he isn't as loved as he would want to be.
#11 Jose Aldo vs #14 Dominick Cruz - I'm very sad for Aldo, I really wanted him to win tonight, was a very close fight without a doubt. Regardless I would love to see Jose against Dominick, this is what we all wanted and let's see it before both men retire. Aldo said he wants to finish his career in the UFC now after trying to do a few boxing matches. Let's see this next year in Brazil... it's only right.
#10 Roman Dolidze vs #9 Paulo Costa - Great win for Roman, get's to come out and get the win by corner stoppage (TKO) and takes 0 damage and calls for a fight in December and the one person who seems to be fitting of that bill is Paulo Costa. Paulo's last fight was against Strickland at UFC 302 and that was a while ago, it seems that he is ready to come back and this could be a winnable fight for both men, good addition to the PPV in December.
#15 (WW) Kevin Holland vs Loser of #10 Geoff Neal/RDA - One thing is certain, Holland is going to be out until next year, but not to long for him, we can probably see him early next year. He should go back down to 170 and fight the loser of Geoff Neal vs RDA, there is History with him and Geoff Neal and RDA is a legend, fun fight for Kevin whether it's Neal or RDA.
#9 Joaquin Buckley vs #2 Kamaru Usman - Great KO Win for Buckley, undefeated at 170, and an amazing callout. Usman is turning 38 years old next year so he is for sure getting up there in age but he still has been training and is always a force to be reckoned with. I gotta say, this is for sure a fight you must have as a 5 rounder, I need to see how Buckley does with his cardio at 5 rounds, make this a 5 Rounder Co-Main of a weaker PPV, or just make a fight night Main Event.
#10 Stephen Thompson vs Winner of Carlos Prates/Randy Brown - Always sad to see Wonderboy lose I can't lie. He is 41 about to be 42 early next year, I know a lot of people are calling for Wonderboy against MVP and I don't mind that but I think we need to see some new comers get their shots at the rankings, Prates or Randy Brown would be a favorable matchup for Wonderboy as it should stay up on the feet. I do want to see him retire though.
#6 Iasmin Lucindo vs #4 Jessica Andrade - Pretty close fight tonight, could go either way but the prospect Lucindo get's the dub tonight as she continues to rise in the rankings. I think she should get a pretty big step up in Jessica Andrade. Andrade just fought at 125 earlier in September and I think that she will be back at 115 sooner than later, this is the one to make early next year.
#7 Marina Rodriguez vs #11 Loopy Godinez - Ton of interesting scorecards out here tonight without a doubt but Marina takes the L tonight by split decision and at 37 years old turning 38, she isn't getting any younger at all. In this Top 15, it almost seems like everyone has faced everyone at this point, so let's get something fresh going on, Marina against Loopy for some freshness regardless if Loopy really deserves a jump up in rankings.
Alexander Hernandez vs Joaquim Silva - Great win for Hernandez on short notice, probably saved his career to be honest. He is now an interesting 7-7 in the UFC and ends a 2 fight losing streak and the smart thing would to be obviously stay at 155. He should fight fellow veteran Joaquim Silva who had a scrap with Drakkar Klose earlier this year at UFC 301. If they go back to Brazil early next year, put this on the prelims for guaranteed violence.
Austin Hubbard vs Roosevelt Roberts 2....? - Tough loss for Hubbard but it's not like he's a candidate to be cut at all. I would love to see him run it back against Roosevelt Roberts. They both threw down on TUF Season 31 to see who got to fight in the finals and Hubbard won by a very close split decision, I say run it back for these 2 vets instead of feeding them to prospects. Roberts just fought last week so these 2 are on similar timelines.
Cesar Almeida vs Edmen Shahbazyan - 2-1 now for Cesar within the promotion and it's clear the UFC wants to Cesar to do good. Got jumped up into crazy compeitition in just his 2nd fight against Roman Kopylov. I think he needs 1 more fight to see if he is truly ready for something bigger. He is 36 years of age and needs a fun where more people can know his name, Edmen is the perfect guy for that. Edmen is someone the UFC desperately likes as they like to give him layups here and there as he is only 26 years of age. These are 2 fighters who have very little grappling game and love to strike on the feet.... Although I wouldn't be surprised to see Edmen shoot here...
Ihor Potieria -RELEASED - 2-5 now for Ihor in the UFC, he took a ton of fouls tonight but still got outclassed pretty badly. He's only 28 so he can easily get 3-4 win's on the regional scene and come right back, but right now the UFC just isn't for him.
Ryan Spann vs Oumar Sy - Great win for Spann, although it was against a 41 year old OSP, this seems to be a different Spann. He is looking to get back into the rankings but he needs 1 more impressive win and Sy is the perfect candidate. Sy just fought last week and is on a 2 fight winning streak against some bottom of the barrel guys at 205. This is a HUGE test for Oumar Sy as well for Ryan Spann taking on a new comer, winner gets a ranked opponent.
Ovince St. Preux vs Alexander Gustafsson OR RETIREMENT - That was OSP's last fight on his contract, I personally doubt the UFC will bring him back BUT if they do, I beg them to make OSP vs Gustafsson as its a fight that I have always wanted to see regardless of how old they are, I need to these 2 fight and see both of them put the gloves in the center and retire after.
Tecia Pennington vs Ketlen Souza - I would be fine with giving her a ranked opponent considering she beat a former champ but because of how close it really was against a fighter who hasn't fought in 2 years and had a kid in the meantime, I think one more should suffice. Souza is on a 2 fight winning streak with her last win being at 306, choking out Yazmin Jauregui out cold. Tecia vs Souza would be a great fight to add to any prelims as it actually guarantees some action.
Carla Esparza - RETIRED - I thought she won her final fight but I hope Carla has a fun retirement party later tonight, her Birthday is in 5 days so I guess going out on a loss isn't the best way to leave but I'm sure the check for the fight will help.
Court McGee vs Preston Parsons - Great win for Court McGee, 39 years old and just got off surgery and says he feels the best he ever has, now I don't know how true that really is considering he faced a 40 year old Tim Means but he did look pretty good tonight. I would like to see him go against a heavy wrestler set fighter in Preston Parsons who is currently 2-3 in the UFC. Both of the fighters here lack power but have amazing grappling, so we could see an interesting fight and a chance for Parsons to redeem his last loss with a possible layup here, or we could see McGee continue an odd winning streak late into his career.
Tim Means vs Ricky Glenn - Not good for Tim Means, now 1-5 in his last 6 and seemed to grabbing his neck after tapping in the first round, I hope he retires but if he decides to do 1 last one before he retires, let's put him against Ricky Glenn who took a pretty bad beating at UFC 305 in August against Song Kenan after trying to move up a weight class. Loser NEEDS to retire.
