Some years ago there were some mma fighters that could compete against the best kickboxers of the world at a time the level of kickboxing at heavyweight (k1) was still good. At the moment the level of kickboxing at heavyweight kickboxing division isn't the same anymore, and UFC fighters in kickboxing matches isn't possible anymore with the UFC, but which current UFC fighters would be able make it competitive in a kickboxing match against someone as Rico Verhoeven? In the past this was different; some examples below (you are welcome to add more)
Overeem
Became k1 champ when becoming k1 champ was still something big. He mainly used his power and weight advance to win against the more technical strikers, but it's still impresive. Probably his biggest win was against Badr Hari (Badr Hari later avenged this loss by also taking steroids and becoming much bigger)
Mark Hunt
Great chin and striking. Defeating Jerome le Banner wasn't an easy thing to do. The way he did it was spectacular:
Crocop
Maybe the most impressive of all is Crocop in his fight against Bonjasky. People forgot how good Crocop was in his prime. Yes Overeem became k1 champion, but that was mostly because of his power (from steroids). I'm not saying Crocop didn't take steroids, but he was a good striker and here you see him defeating Bonjasky who later became the 5-time K1 champ:
