Below you can see what happens when UFC fighters only can use their grappling skills (some vids are old).

Luke Rockhold in grappling match:

Jacaré 'wins' with broken arm:

Flying armbar against Weidman:

Jon Jones grappling matches:

Werdum can't get armbar (and loses on points):

Arlovski looking like a giant (sparring)

Conor McGregor grappling match as purple belt:

Nate Diaz Grappling match also as purple belt vs Ryan Hall

If you know some other interesting grappling vids of UFC fighters please post them.

Can't believe this clown fought at Metamoris hahah

Sleep aide. Tried watching that Metamoris once, couldn't finish 1 fight.

you don't need JJ if there's Judo tbh..

Judo in the Olympics has been limited to mostly upper body throws for a while now so you don't see newaza or most takedowns in those matches. It seems that they made some rule changes this year and there's been a lot more newaza.

Seen most of them except for the Nate vs Ryan Hall match.

Thanks for the post TS, was not expecting it to end like that. Nice.

Pat Barry

Miesha Tate vs Shayna Baszler

Sara McMann vs Shayna Baszler

MC vs Aoki and Shaolin, not UFC but fuck it.

I don't like the judo as much. It's not the same.
in 4 years many rule changes can happen. usually you dont see many ground techniques in judo, that's true, but that's how the high level competition in judo is. they limit it to grip fighting until they get a perfect throw or the opponent gets a penalty. that's how the sport is. and yes, Judo isn't the same, but it's still grappling. Judo is already a big sport in the olympics, why add jiu-jitsu too? i don't see any benefit from that except a little more spectators. the jiu-jitsu world championship is big enough to be an olympic style event.

I love this thread
