Does anyone know of any UFC fighters that are from Thailand? If there are none...sup with that? Anyone know of any plans to go there? I just tweeted Dana and asked him. Is he likely to respond? Doesn't a muay-Thai fighter from Thailand that trains in all aspects of mma sound interesting to anyone? Or a UFC event taking place in Thailand?

The closest one I can think of is Will Chope.
There are no other Thais because Muay Thai is the money sport there.

I don't think traditional MT translates well into MMA.

probably because the majority of fit thais barely make flyweight. seriously

Same as asking why all Mexican boxers aren't in mma. No tdd, only one dimension of the sport

It's not that profitable. I was just there.

Problem is the ground game is not trained enough to warrant a contract with a major MMA promotion.

Thais don't care about the ground game and would never abandon their 100% dedication to Muay Thai in order to learn how to properly go inbetween another man's legs and then beat on his meat.

It is not the same question. The idea of a Muay-Thai fighter that practices other or all aspects of mma sounds interesting to me. Muay-Thai is practiced by many mma fighters. So Muay Thai fighters can't learn other aspects? I wanted to bring attention to Thailand and the lack of exposure it gets. Brazil is known for jujitsu and there are one dimensional fighters that fight in the ufc. A country that brought us a very popular aspect of mma seems to get little attention. Sup with that? Is it marketing? Even a fighter of Thai descent who was born in the states who trains in mma would be awesome to see. For the ufc wanting to expand internationally but leave out Thailand feels odd.
