They would have had to know it would look like it was because of Reebok so either their excuse is bullshit or they arent good at handling things like this.

Both are true, they are terrible at pr stuff. Dana/UFC end up making things worse, this is another example. The Stitch shit was just about done, people were moving on to other things and UFC brings it right back into the spotlight.
