UFC just announced tonight that they are going to Hidalgo Texas in september.


why??? with such limited number of events per year, and so many big cities that still haven't had a UFC event, why Hidalgo? does anyone know?

It's on the Mexican border on the other side of Reynosa. The area, including McAllen and Edinburg, is part of what's known as the Rio Grande Valley. Yes, I looked it up. No idea why they're going there.

A city in Texas that is close to the border, for anyone who doesn't know. Bellator had an event there not too far back. Would've prefered Austin, unless they're trying to showcase some talent from Mexico.

Woah. First time a ufc is coming to South Texas, also near my hometown. I'm assuming they're going to want Hispanic fighters on the card, but I can't think of any that aren't booked. Maybe Nick? But I feel they'd want him on a big card, like 205, 206, 207,etc...
