That's both literally wrong and effectively wrong. To the former, sponsor dollars are a part of the UFC contract. To the latter, UFC sponsor dollars are effectively capped at the level of the Reebok contract while Thompson and his agent probably have a reasonably sound picture of the sponsors dollars available to him in Bellator where that effective cap doesn't exist. And you're smart enough to know this too so stop trying to insult my intelligence.
Sponsor dollars are not contractually guaranteed by either party, while it is certainly something the fighter and their managers would consider when shopping for deals, it could not be used in a matching dispute because it is all potential non-guaranteed monies. UFC would only have to match what show/win money Bellator offers. Period.
If anything UFC has more to offer in the form of guaranteed sponsor dollars in the form the Reebok deal and the increased exposure of having "UFC Fighter" as your title. Sponsors are not lining up to pay Bellator fighters.
