why do so many people on here care about PPV pts, how much money fighters make, Reebok, gate receipts, pay per view subscriptions, advertising etc etc etc

It’s so strange!

Because all of that plays into why fights get made, where & when.

Because its a fascinating insight to the progress of a sport we love. Plus it's interesting to see what fighters/ fights are draws with the audience & seeing whether than agrees with the feelings of the posters on the boards.

It is because most of us Sherdoggers have trained UFC for years but after a few fights in the regional circuit, we came to the stark realization that we will not be UFC fighters so we are preparing to be an UFC fighter's agent or an UFC executive as a fall back plan.

LOL @ you, do you even UFC, bro?

From a fan prospective, It gives a guage on how well the sport we love is doing.

From a business prospective it is a fascinating business model.

it is a good bellweather of everything from the popularity of the UFC to how the UFC guages upcoming prospects and veteran stars alike.

Great use of "bellweather"

It's a good gauge to know when more "UFC is dying" comments will flood the threads

There are many Powerball winners who are now investors on Sherdog. Its where they get insider information........

I don't get it either. Possibly because the fighters talk about it more? The culture has changed in mma from guys that just liked to fight, to guys that got into mma to be on tv and get rich. I guess at one point the money was irrelevant because there really wasn't any since it was kind of underground so it just wasn't talked about?
