What say you are the chances they're making a joint play here to blow up interest for the event and will reconcile within a month or so? THE EVENT IS BACK ON !!!1one!
 
Not outside the realm of possibility.

It has clearly generated a ton of interest in Conor again. It could be to cover up an injury, or to just scratch the Diaz fight altogether without damaging his brand even more.

I'm 99% sure he will be back at some point. If he really is injured, maybe this was the UFC's way of getting him out of action for a while without having the 'held up division' drama, and also preventing Conor from having to pull out in the traditional sense.
 
LOL UFC is in it for UFC , the may want to sell it in the near future , making themselves looks foolish for 200 even to get another lets say 200k buys while damaging their brand is insane

The promotion can't back down. People need to understand that. He is retired right now. He has no belt.

I expect him back but I would easily bet the farm he isn't on the 200 card. It's NEVER going to happen.
 
Everything about this whole thing stinks... play off the 'reported' rift between Conor and Dana... get everyone gutted about event being shut down then put the whole thing back on again...

That's how I predict it plays out, but I don't think it's some grand master scheme
 
I think conor seeing someone die in the cage personally might have him all fked up right now
 
Exactly. The UFC is doing the same thing with Brock vs Fedor. For 7 years now they've made it seem like the fight isn't happening, but just you wait. At UFC 300, it's on!

If he's officially retired. He is officially NOT the champion. The promotion has no alternative.

If people can't accept reality they are way too emotionally wrapped up in this.

yeah, just like all those fighters Dana said would never be invited back to the UFC, and then they did invite them

If this Mcgregor/UFC drama turns out to be fake, then UFC is officially on WWE level - we already have fake belts, why not have fake drama as well..
