UFC 304 - Edwards vs. Muhammad II

Don't bet on Green until Friday or Saturday.
His numbers are dropping because people are slowly placing bets on Paddy.
I'd imagine Green would possibly be +100 by the end of the week.

Right now it's
Green -117
Pimblett -107

Gotta be careful, sharps are thinking the same potentially. You wait too long and some big $ comes in on Green before you get yours in and he's -150 by the time you try to make the play. Given he was -175 or so not that long ago...if you think there's value now you might want to at least put half of what you plan to bet on him and then wait out the rest?

Leon into Virgil Ortiz (boxing) looks a safe -105

Green keeps his hands down too much and he's going to get hit with something he doesn't see vs. Paddy. Even it is doesn't knock him out, it will drop him and put Paddy in a great position. I'm not all that impressed with Paddy, but it's not like Green is some elite at 155.

Green has lost to Dober and Moises. He's struggled vs. Drakkar Klose. Jim Miller is an old punching bag with some big power at this stage. Let's call it like it is. Green was never threatened.

I like Giga +3.5 here a ton and possibly an upset. He's the cleaner striker. Allen gets carried away and he leaves openings.

Belal will likely win the 2nd half of the fight. I don't trust the judges though. Worth a live stab after round 1. Belal is everything people say Colby is. He's going to be very active vs. Leon and it's going to cause problems.

Belal genuinely does nothing though, nothing of note judges like. Leon, as boring as he can be will land much more significant shots and the crowd will go nuts every time he does.

Belal has better cardio but when he has almost zero finishing upside, Leon just needs to see the final bell to win. Leon was piecing Belal in the first one too, he offered nothing standing

Maybe I'm underrating Paddy but he doesn't seem like the striker to catch Green. I kinda feel he's gonna try to grapple but struggle to get much going. That said, age difference is huge and matters.

Allen can grapple, Giga is elite at distance and average everywhere else. If Allen is dumb enough to give Giga an outside kickboxing match, he deserves to lose. I don't see Allen being that dumb.

Agree on Belal. He's live imo. He won't get tired, and while he likely will get the worst of the standup, he will continue to push a grappling pace regardless and will make it close imo.

It's in regard to the Alice Ardelean fight. She's currently +155.

Regarding Bobby Green, I was looking at his MMA record to refresh my memory of who he beat over the years, and I was surprised to see that aside from quickly knocking out Grant Dawson, Green's next best win in his entire MMA career is either Nasrat Haqparast (2022 - pure striker) or Jacob Volkmann (2013 - pure grappler).

Green has beaten some decent names in his career, but they were all old and/or washed when he beat them:
  • James Krause (best win, but Krause pretended he got hit low and then the referee said the fight was over and Krause fucked himself)
  • Pat Healy (washed)
  • Josh Thomson (he and Gilbert Melendez were washed by the time they left Strikeforce and entered the UFC, and Thomson barely threw any strikes and fucked around because he was in his home city of San Jose and thought he was ahead -- classic live betting spot for those of you who were around back in the day)
  • Erik Koch (washed and a pure striker who wasn't as good at striking as Green)
  • Al Iaquinta (washed -- hadn't fought for 2 years and then retired after losing to Green)
  • Tony Ferguson in 2023 (enough said)
  • Jim Miller in 2024 (I had a max bet on Green due to the style matchup and cardio difference and because Miller is already 40)
This information doesn't mean that Paddy should automatically beat Green, it's just me thinking aloud about Green's MMA wins.

Alice her opponents have a combined record of 21-24 at the time she fought them, over 14 fights... 5 of them didnt have any wins at the time she fought them.

Bukauskas is better than Prachnio everywhere, and I don't think Prachnio has the gas tank to go three rounds against anyone who will make him work. The only way I see Bukauskas lose is if he gets clipped.

I don't think Robocop can hang with CLD standing. Too much speed, reach, precision, variety of techniques. Robocop was getting out-struck by Brad Tavares by the second round of their fight before he turned it around. Thoughts about CLD's TDD?

I'd rather play it safe and put Duncan/RoboCop Fight Ends ITD in a 2-team parlay. It's currently -220.

This guy is mistaking Alice being tenacious with her being physical and powerful which she is not. Alice only wins fights where she can bully her opponents which is why the collective record of the opponents, she has beaten is 13-31, and why only two of the nine opponents she has beaten have winning records. The reality is Alice has lost to every decent opponent she has ever faced and usually they finish her in the second or third round once she tires out.

Dakota Ditcheva, arguably the best striker in WMMA, wasn’t able to bully Bannon when they fought as amateurs in 2020 so is Ardelean really going to be able too? I don’t think so and if anything, Bannon is probably going to take Ardelean down and eventually finish her. Bannon’s fight with Bruna Brasil was close enough that she won the second round on one judges scorecard and the third round on another scorecard, so the fight could have very conceivably been scored in her favor; it was a close fight despite the commentary.

Is +155 really a good price on a short notice replacement, who has only made the weight class once in the past 7 years, under the described circumstances? Imo no and she is probably a bad bet anywhere under +300 because realistically she doesn’t win more than 25% of the time if even that.

Yeah and everytime King faces anyone decent he gets killed. He was getting pieced the fuck up by Tony ferguson at times
