News UFC 287: RAUL ROSAS JR. VS CHRISTIAN RODRIGUEZ

I'm not on this guy's hype train, but this guy isn't getting O'Malley treatment nor even Paddy's. A bit odd, given this guy got Mexico market possibly behind him.

I just don't understand UFC match making sometimes, I still don't get why UFC fed Molly to Erin, gave Gordon to Paddy, but they literally gave plethora of cans for O'Malley. I don't think much of O'Malley either, but he actually has talent on the feet, and Yan fight, even Yan fight, I thought it was a win-win fight for Sean, robbery debate aside. UFC got Sean working all the way up to title shot without having him fight even remotely a touch match up. I mean, makes no sense. Perhaps they value US market much more? I digress.

Anyhow, I don't think much of this guy, but best luck to both. May the best man win.

Actually, i think he can afford to lose once or twice.
If that happens, people will basically say that he's Young and need time to develop his skills.
Also, UFC will probably do all they can to match him against the finest cans they can find

Never heard of this Rodriguez guy but hope he’s a solid test at least.

To be fair Sean most of Sean’s fights we’re supposed to be legit

From his debut up until the Chito fight he fought appropriately matched opponents

Kris Mountino was last minute replacement

Thomas Almeida was the only legit can to put him up against

Raulisn Paiva was a legit dude. Not only was he ranked but he beat Kyler Phillips

Then it was Pedro Muniz then Petr Yan

Nothing stands out to me about him, like nothing at all, but wish him luck in MMA.

Very well thought out post.

Imagine if I didn't follow O'Malley and UFC and hear something like this as if true.

Paiva was a guy who robbed Zhalgas at FLW. He was literally a guy for O'Malley to look good against.

He beat Kyler Phillips. Paiva may not look pretty doing it but I think he is a very live dog

It's literally a tailor made match up for Sean O'Malley. Natural flyweight, who should have lost to Zalgas at flyweight a couple fights ago.

The only problem is, O'Malley isn't that good. I think this is a gimme fight that's meant to make O'Malley look good, especially after his upset win over Philips where he was a HUGE underdog, which means not many people thought he was that good.

I think O'Malley is supposed to win this and finish this guy. The only problem is Paiva is probably better than some may think, and O'Malley isn't that good.

But really, you can believe whatever narrative you'd like to. Nothing wrong with that. Cheers.

Anyhow, before this turns into O'Malley discussion, I'm outta here. O'Malley isn't worth spending any in-depth discussion on. You gotta be good in some way or form as a fighter or likable as a person, neither of which seems to be true. If you believe he fought a legit competition and he's a great fighter, lol nothing wrong with that.

It just felt compelled me to reply because it felt so wrong, you know? But we are all free to believe what we like.

Very good test!

I'm interested in this one.

I thought they might have booked Rosas more cynically than this, glad to see he's being treated as a proper part of the roster.

Also, this is what I said about Sean, in 2020, almost 3 years ago.

I think Sean is a better striker than Yan. Just my opinion.

@VOTE for Dreyga2000 So, I'm not selling Sean short or anything, just so you know. If you believe Sean is a great fighter who fought his way up through legit competition, lol good for you and good for him! I just don't think much of a guy as a fighter, even less about his competition up to date if that's possible, and that just happens to be my opinion, what can we do? It is what it is. Have a good one!

Almeida carried a lot of intrigue at one point. That thrashing to garbrandt when people thought he was likely to win having significantly more fights than garbrandt really shattered his confidence it seemed.

I have the same opinion as yours.

Dude has nothing out of extraordinary.
Still... The fact he's Young, on a good Win streak and marketable is something that actually calls attention.

I think he wins this match also
