and that isn’t entirely disrespect to Luque, he is tough as nails, but he is definitely deficient when it comes to overall skills and has very exploitable holes in his striking.

He (Luque) is hittable. And a bit slow.

He doesn’t read feints well and he can be hit with the same strikes and combos on repeat.


Tyson’s striking isn’t particularly sophisticated but his power should make up for that. Also his TD threat can open up KO opportunities, particularly if he can mix his level changes with his striking, fake a TD and come with a right hand over the top...

But none of that matters if Woodley can’t pull the trigger, and lately he hasn’t shown that he can, but this is a pretty significant step down in competition, and he has to know if he loses that is likely a wrap for his UFC career, certainly curtains for his time at the top... so maybe that motivates him to actually FIGHT.

as if it isn't pretty f*cking obvious from that poster design who the UFC really really wants to win.

Just for that........ I hope Stipe absolutely dominates Ngannou again, and preferably FINISHES him this time (hey Stipe .....how about throwing in a simple RNC when your opponent is completely exhausted??).

It's fun to see Dana trying and failing to hide his pissed-off face when his preferred fighter loses and he has to put the belt on the guy (or girl) who he wanted to lose.
 
It’s a stupid title. It’s either going to be a one round of KO from Ngannou or 5 round of lay and pray from Stipe knowing he has no other options to finish him (for obvious reasons) so this fight will disappoint a lot of people.

They know Jones will take on one of them next so it would make sense putting it with Jones instead like “biggest” fight of the year to hype his first HW fight.
