UFC 250 PBP/Discussion

So nunes should’ve been at least -2500

I bet the points and the dec line, but wagered far more on itd

points was the way to play that one

lost yet another event because of crap bets, the biggest one being hooper
Hooper pick hurt a lot, my pride more than the money to pick such a shit fighter and see him look like +2000 to Caceres.

I really wanted Sandhagen to win, glad I passed. Way too small of a cage to be against such a motivated grappling specialist.

Right, she wasn't going to win. Ever. She's just not good enough.

She's good enough to beat probably every other 145 lb woman on the planet aside from the 2 she lost to. But she didn't quit, she hung in there (even if Nunes eased off and didn't go for the finish like she could have).

To me, if you are just levels below your opponent skillwise and you still gut it out, that's not embarrassing. Embarrassing is quitting.

To me being so outclassed that your opponent chooses to take it easy on you also embarrassing. I can't even recall another time a fighter intentionally chose not to take an easy finish like Nunes did. It's not Spencer's fault for being in that position, it says more about the state WMMA. She was a 9-1 fighter in her second championship fight ffs.

But I admit I'm salty about the way it played out. I hit Nunes U4.5 hard after round 3, so it was painful to watch things play out as they did. The praise that everyone's heaping on Spencer for 'surviving' is just more salt in the wounds.

Didn't Vegas Dave lose a million dollars when he bet on Tate to beat Nunes? Not that I believe Vegas Dave ever even had a million dollars, but I recall that was a big story when it happened.

Red Flag for me today? Byrd was fighting a much younger fighter and who was fresh. Hooper was completely not ready to face huge a contest in a small cage.Devin Clark win didnt surpise me he did say he would crash Menifield hype train in a news article and he did.

Me to i was a bit to confident over Sandhagen judging from his previous fights. Oh well his still got more fights for him in the near future hopefully. Anyway this fight card was lolz for a card like this one there were sure quite a few underdogs that did well.

There will be fight cards. And next week one looks interesting as well.
Don’t even get me started on Byrd. I have no idea why I thought the price was right when he came off two lackluster brutal KO losses nearing 40 for a late starter. Just shows you that the contender series has a lot of BUMS lmao. Maki pitolos stock was really low because he lost to Callen potter but I had no clue he would be a decent sized MW coming up. Guess he cut a lot of weight to make WW. Maki pitolo, not bad and his stock went up today lol. (Just how good is Callen potter???)

i would have bet cooper and I’m surprised I didn’t with the horrible picks I made today, but I couldn’t pull the trigger on a 20 year old kid going against a dude with so much ufc fights. Caceres actually showed some bad fight IQ by somewhat playing hoopers guard, but he still fucked that little boy up. Hooper had NO business being in the octagon with decent striking and passable takedown defense. Hooper with shit wrestling, sloppy top game, possibly the worst striking defense in men’s mma, yeah I don’t know why the hype went up so much for the 20 year old kid. I don’t think hooper even with improvements will do much in the ufc, just a goofy kid lol.

I also had a feeling Devin would win because he soundly beat a dangerous dequan Townsend with ease. Alonzo is also round 1 ko or bust and even though devin never really took him down, he always had the wrestling threat to make sure Alonzo didn’t just tee off. Super sloppy fight, just shows how shallow the talent pool at LHW is.

Start doing homework lads. Next card will be very tricky.

I was wrong on alomst everything that I wrote about this event.
That is the one of the reasons I am comming back to write here
Over 4.5 or 3.5 are just not gonna happen. And over 2.5 @ +135 (2.35) is not enough for this, still risky bet, IMO. I think 1, maximum 2 fights will end via sub on this card. Too much well matched fights. Subs doesn't happen that often, unless one guy is totally overmatched on the ground or gets very tired/beaten up. I can see finishes on the ground, but by GnP.

Under 1.5 fights end in sub is @ +220? Maybe some sprinkle on that?
No fights end in sub +1030?
The other is this. The only thing that I was right.
One obvious fight end in sub and that was it. Under 1.5 hit. Not that I've bet it. Hope somebody did.

EDIT: I missed Aljo's sub. So under 1.5 is a loss.

For most of my MMA betting research i most rely on interviews, tapes if exist of some fighters etc and yeah face offs. I really dont spend to much focus on fight odds. Well not saying i dont but i dont always use fight odds as they are in this fight card 50/50.

For Yesterday's fight card some of the fight odds were way off. Hooper odd should have being lower. Nunes odds were on point.

A favorite shouldn't be as high as Hooper was.

Always bet on the better athlete
Sure worked out that way at this event! With regards to athleticism, Alonzo vs. Clark and Byrd vs. Pitolo I feel are kind of a wash. Setting them aside, IMO the most athletic fighter won EVERY single fight.

There was no fight of the night announced. So you just lose all those bets? Seems kinda stupid. nevermind all bets voided.

Yeah if you mean it's embarrassing that this is the talent gap that we have at the heavier WMMA weight classes, then yeah. I get that.

I just don't think it's embarrassing for Spencer herself. Pretty much every other female 145 lb fighter in the world would have crumbled and turtled up when Nunes hit them, and just waited for the ref to stop it. Even with being totally outmatched and outclassed, Spencer didn't stop fighting.

Under 1.5 hit?

Didn't Burns and Aljo both win by sub?

Understatement lol

Not gonna watch one second of tape, or even the event most likely.

Parlayed juiced Merab+Fili and that's it. I'm done haha.

(Plus have them in a parlay with Blaydes).

I fell into the hooper, Alonso and Sandhagen hole too. Left with a $40.92. I weep with the losers.
