Is anyone besides me frustrated that we have 20+ threads about Dominick beating Jones as easy as 1,2,3... yet no threads on everything else that happened last night? Everything else: I had my worst night gambling ever, thanks to Adams and Morono. Or thanks to Tafa and Williams, if you want to be positive about it. Morono vs. Williams Williams’s go-to technique is to chase his opponent around the ring while swinging loopy haymakers. His hands never return to defensive positions. He is useless on the ground. I didn’t need to know anything about Morono to bet this fight: Williams’s tricks simply aren’t going to work against a UFC Fighter. Right? Now I feel like a Morono. Adams vs. Tafa Adam’s disgraceful performance in the Hardy fight didn’t tell us anything. Adams did what he was supposed to do against Hardy, and his reward is a match against the supremely-beatable Tafa. Right? Adams and I were ejected from Paradise for our sins. Martinez vs. Ewell I root for the underdog when I don’t have any prior commitments. Seeing a little Salvadoran in there against a much-less little Athletico-explosive Hebrew Israëlite had me rooting for the former. Seeing the clear loser of that fight get his hand raised had me cursing the State of Texas. Lee vs. Murphy That was a dogfight. Sorry, that’s too mean. A girl-next-door fight. Why does everyone insist that the fighters be skillful? They fought hard and damaged faces, and that’s enough for me. Lewis vs. Latifi “Lewis is gonna win this one by spamming flying knees” said no one ever. Latifi was great in this fight. Winning a fight against a ridiculously-larger opponent via preventing him from fighting (AKA LNP) is a perfectly legitimate strategy. Latifi was robbed. That is enough for me for now. UFC 247: Battle of the Whodafucs was an excellent card. What do my Sherdog co-regents think?
I thought FotN couldve been Ewell vs Martinez. Giles vs Krause was good though James Krausse saved the match. I think he would beat Trevin on a full camp. Im glad they both showed up
