    What's your prediction?

I think Dustin gives Max a tough run at LW, and uses his size to get some ground work and a possible submission.

My gut says decision, Dustin but I can't see it going the distance.

I'm going to call Dustin, sub, Rd.4

The guy who couldn’t finish Ortega with 300 strikes is gonna finish Poirer
A guy who has been koed twice by guys who hit way harder than max

You think Dustin has the gas to finish a guy like Max in rd 4?... Bold prediction, anything past rd 2 is all Max imo. Max was winning on the feet in their first fight and was as green as it gets, with his improved cardio, ground game, tdd and striking it's hard for me to imagine him losing unless Dustin is able to catch him clean with something early.

Got a weird feeling Max might get sparked unconscious

The last 3 main events, the person who you'd argue was the "better striker" has got knocked out cold early.

This is a tough one to call. They have both improved so much since the first fight like 7 years ago. I am going to go with Max but hope its a war

Dustin has the reach, but I think Max is a better striker. I believe he will get the advantage on the mat. Early Rd 4, or late Rd 4 is not a stretch for Poirier imo.

Well I do not like that Dustin had a much longer layoff.
Max probably got very little rest time. The move up in weight will help Max have more time to train so that is good.
Both of them fought at 145 lbs. Dustin just has had more fights at 155 weight class.

We haven't seen Max's ground game since the Connor fight which was 6 years ago when Max was 21 years old.
Max could have changed his ground game up a lot.

We know that Dustin is good at BJJ. Can Max's TDD hold up?

I think this Match up belongs to Max.
If the winner does face Khabib for the belt, match up wise I would put Dustin ahead of Max in terms of beating him.

I have Max winner in the 4th round via tko/KO against Dustin.

Yeah sure, but last three guys who got ko'd like that have all been dropped.. Max hasn't been dropped. What are the odds he gets sparked cold before he even gets dropped?

I want Max to win, but Dustin will get him out of there quickly. Round 2 at the most KO.

It all boils down to how Max handles the extra pounds. If he's as insane as he is at FW he'll win.

I haven't bothered to look at the odds but I imagine they favor Holloway. If it's heavily skewed I'm going to put money on Dustin, count it lost, and just enjoy the fight.

On paper Max should win. I have this weird nagging feeling that Dustin will knock him out.

    Dustin finishes him, probably submission
Dustin gets hit a lot and Dustin has underated offensive wrestling.
Dustin will mix powerful strikes aswell as takedowns in order to get submission, 2nd or 3rd round
    Sherdog will be shocked

There is absolutely nothing that says Max should win. Dustin Porier has exceptionally good boxing, good ground game, and good chin.

Sorry but Max is going to sleep. Let me reiterate what I said before, Max does not belong in the top 5 of the LW division.

Maybe not it all depends on how the fight goes. Poirier tends to put everything he has behind his strikes (even when he says he's not going to). If he thinks he has Holloway hurt at any moment he will go full brawl mode imo, he does it all the time and it usually ends with him having a much harder fight than he should have. If he doesn't pace himself he'll be in trouble against a guy like Holloway in the later rds.

Are you retarded? Go look at my post again. I'm putting money on Dustin.

But to say that there is "absolutely nothing that says Max should win" is fucking stupid. Max's movement, gauging of speed and precision are better than Dustin's.

Dustin's gauging of distance and timing is better than Max.

Here is what will happen. Max will go in hands down, throw a right, and Dustin will catch him with a counter left on the chin, send him wobbling back, then go in for the kill. I will bump this post come fight night.
