PBP UFC 236: Holloway vs. Poirier 2 - Main Card PBP Discussion - 10pm ET/7pm PT

Been a real pleasure and enjoyable as hell evening folks! As always on Sherdog... even I'm a fuckin casual and just around a short time.

Good night or good morning(7:31am here). Cheers @ ALL

Max just needs to get on the Nate Diaz diet and he will be fine at 155

wheres the post fight show? ESPN talking bout golf or some shit.

Hell of a card. Called both title fights wrong but, it is what it is - this one was definitely worth the dough. See you Sherbros in a week. Peace!

Me too man, I'm glad to see fellow Diamond fans in the house.

Been rooting for this dude since he was a young buck. He finally broke through that glass ceiling tonight. Diamonds cut glass baby. Good luck against Khabib, another fight where I'm a fan of both fighters like this one. I love 155.

I have close friends that are from Lafayette. It's crazy DC and Jouban is from the same town. Keep it standing and Dustin has a chance against Khabib.

He's always pissed at the crowd. Should see his postfight interview after the first Eddie Alvarez fight.

Can you blame him? The crowd is always against Dustin. He's from the next door state, and they're rooting for someone 5000 miles away.
(This has a lot to do with College football rivalries) but still, I don't blame him. Fuck the crowds.

Man, look at Gastelum's size. Stuff his takedowns is the MINIMUM. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING beats that center of gravity of his allied with a grease gate. A minimum takedown defense would do the trick, and this is what happened.

Don't fool yourself my friend, Weidman eats Adesanya in the breakfast, lunch, dinner, whatever. Mark my words. He is OVERRATED, beating Kelvin with all these advantages is the minimum required. And he ALMOST got KTFO, so... less, muuuch less my friend. Again: He is overrated. And more: even in standup, his specialty. A man with that reach, training Muay Thai more than 15 years, is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.

Weidman, the guy who's 1-4 in his last 5, and was tko'd in all 4 losses since USADA came into the picture is going to eat Adesanya? Okay, sure bud. Weidman isn't going to sniff a title shot, so this conversation is a mute point.

But anyway, what's is gonna take for Adesanya to not be overrated? Hm? First Vettori was too hard of a fight, then Tavares was supposed to man handle him and out-experience him, then Brunson was gonna put his lights out, then Silva was gonna show him what a true striker is and last but not least, Gastellum was supposed to run through him with that dynamite left and takedowns, drowning Adesanya on the ground, while Adesanya's pillow fists weren't going to remotely hurt him. So keep moving those goal posts! I guess he'll have to move up to HW and beat DC so he won't be overrated anymore.

He's been murking dudes at 155 for four years, look at the list of dudes he's beaten: Miller, Gaethje, Pettis, Alvarez.
He's beaten everyone there is to beat at LW other than Canner and Khabib.
I will confess. I am negatively biased towards Dustin Poirier. So,my opinion on him is a little bit skewed.
The first time I saw Dustin Poirier was when Conor KO'd him with slapping shots. The second time was Michael Johnson putting him out cold. The 3rd time was him quitting versus Eddie Alvarez.

I was 0 for 2 too. But the quality of the fights took the sting out of it.

Well, he has 5 months at very least to prepare for Khabib's game. Some people will keep sleeping on Dustin unless he becomes 'the undisputed' which is some what understandable.

But this guy beat Holloway, Gaethje, Alvarez, Pettis. No more sleeping on The Diamond win or lose folks.

Still gonna hope Khabib runs through him, Khabib is a unique fighter unlike many others. He's still a specialist and able to be champion in the toughest division in MMA and perhaps the most dominant fighter in the sport (along with JBJ)

ya, no elite skills man, none at all. He just magically obliterated the entire FW roster with no elite skills, just cardio and a good chin.

Can a mod please give this man a yellow card, he deserves it more than I do.

That guy is all that's wrong with Suredawg.

Cool lets get an AV bet going or something. I'm a fan of Khabib, but Dustin is probably my favorite active fighter.

Lol yeah, he'd starch DP.
Idk anymore, Conor is not active and is partying like an asshole way too much from a fans view...typically when this is the case the fighter does not come back at their best and I feel a glimpse of that was shown vs Khabib as he did not look himself. Perhaps alcohol and drugs being alcohol and drugs have begun to do their job on his body and mind and this occurrence is a fact.

Also....at this point its hard to know if Conor will ever fight in his prime again, which is a crime against the sport of MMA.

I feel that if the re matched Poirier would out heart Conor if he could survive the early onslaught.

no thanks, I had to suck off @Oeshon for 6 years to get this, Its never coming off.

we can wager $20 and have a mod escrow though.

I know it wouldn’t be fair to Dustin seeing as he’s earned his title shot, but I almost wish he would rematch Conor before fighting Khabib.

I always root for my Southern boys. They always talk about Mexican tough and Hawaiian tough, they always be shafting Southern tough. <3>
