900k was a made up number by an admitted gossip columnist.

Meltzer is the only one with the connections that are not just UFC telling reporters

Super random and has nothing to do with the thread... but cool gif bro.

BTW.. Jones is becoming a draw after all the bullshit. People loves a good heel. Specially one that cant be defeated.

This might be a good sign for 2019 as far as PPV.
ESPN covered this fight a lot.
    So that is a positive.

Of course no amount of ESPN coverage will make people buy a PPV with a main event that is weak, it should help the stronger cards

Right I get that. I was just a little surprised at the actual number of buys. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But it could have conceivably sold as high as a million. I didn’t know.

It’s the drop off from the last 2 though (160 K and 100K) That only really matter to me. I’m glad to see there seems to be some backlash from the fans. That was a grade A shit show.

Jones* gone for less than a year and half = 700K.
GSP gone for four full years = 850K.

GSP return was also at MSG with 3 title fights. Why are you comparing them so hard?

    I think 700k is a good number.

Most fights I get a UFC over/under, but this was such a mess I did not see one.

Plus GSP was a bigger singular draw, so he should have drew 850k

Tapology says 875K. I don’t know if it’s accurate. I always believed the number to be 850K. And even that is lower than the “tracking over one million in Canada (paraphrased) shit from Dana for 217.

Again it’s the drop off for Jones that’s the thing to me right now.

Too many people have cheap illegal IPTV so that is making the numbers drop when we can all watch it on the PPV feeds or BT Sport etc

Because of 700k buys? You must lose your shit for McGregor if it's PPV numbers that prove who the goat is.

    For the record.
Anytime DW said a PPV number it was exaggerated.
That is/was proven by UFCs own filings when they come out.
Remember for years he swore UFC 100 did 1.6m, while Meltzer said about 1.3

UFC filings had it at 1.3m when they sold

Have you ever heard of reference? It can help to get one’s point across to make similar examples. I mentioned GSP’s numbers because of the similarities with time away from the Octagon. And not losing their belts in the Octagon.

I’ll say it one more time though. It’s the drop in Jones*’ numbers that really interest me. There is evidence his numbers droppped 160K from his last fight. Nobody finds this interesting? This number as I said beats everybody but McGregor and GSP. But a drop of around 20% is no joke.

Keep your eyes on the prize. I do.

I don't have the stats but outside of this bout and the two with Cormier he hasn't been. Might be a little early to claim he is a draw. All the attention for this card could mean this spike is an aberration. Watch him against Smith. If it's a weak card below their main event fight I don't think they'd break 400k.

Man if that's the case I have this great pyramid scheme you should invest in. Don't worry I'm only duping the other suckers.

You are comparing a fight with Gus to DC.
DC will be a bigger number for sure
