UFC 227 early PPV estimate is 300k

Meltzer said that UFC is hoping Jones gets 1 year suspension & have a fight ready for him to headline at MSG

No chance. He got 1 year for the first violation where he was actually able to provide a tainted product. This is the second violation and he wasn't able to come up with an excuse this time. If they don't throw the book at him USADA is blatantly corrupt and all this drug testing is a waste of time and money.

that some good numbers, given the MM fight. That's smart in putting another interesting fight before any FLW fight.

uncle Dave bless.

Wow I am legit surprised. I was thinking around 150k - 200k give or take a little. 300k is way better than I thought

Much better than expected
I think the o/u was 200k

I had this at 200k as well. To me the interesting factor going for this if you look at the audience that the 135lb belt was in front for the past couple cards;

UFC 217 Bisping vs. St. Pierre 11/04/17 875,000 - T.J. Dillashaw def. Cody Garbrandt
UFC 207 Nunes vs. Rousey 12/30/16 1,100,000 - Cody Garbrandt def. Dominick Cruz

So basically the 135lb belt and Cody has been in front of 2 million PPV buyers leading up to this card.

Also I think the UFC was able to create some decent brand awareness by having this fight in LA alongside with a presser that had the announcement of McGregor vs Khabib and Diaz not wanting to fight(Not that you could prove this actually adds PPV buys but it's good to get UFC in the news cycle like that)

Agreed
I also think a big part (as someone mentioned) was the allure of the actual beef between the two.
The embedded eps did more views than DC/Stipe

I don't know where "MMA fans" on sherdog ever got this weird false misconception that LHW/HW sell

The UFC actually did something right for once. They put 2 fighters who are draws on the comain of a gsp card, and boom they attracted more viewers the next time the 2 fought.

Shame they have NEVER bothered to try this with mighty mouse.
Mighty mouse was co main of a jones card and conor-poirier was on a Mighty Mouse undercard. They tried

That's damn good for a manlet card. I enjoyed watching Mighty Duck lose so much that I would have bought the card twice If I had to.
