Don't know why people are complaining about 221. 221 have much more interesting fights than 220. I'm hyped as hell for Miocic vs Ngannou, cool with DC vs Volkan, interested in Burgos vs Cattar and Almeida vs Font and that's it. Rest is very mediocre and I'm rarely complaining about any card.

  • Stipe Miocic vs. F. N'Gannou265 lbs
Daniel Cormier vs. Volkan Oezdemir205 lbs
Shane Burgos vs. Calvin Kattar145 lbs
Gian Villante vs. Francimar Barroso205 lbs
Thomas Almeida vs. Rob Font135 lbs
Kyle Bochniak vs. Brandon Davis145 lbs
    A. Razak Alhassan vs. Sabah Homasi170 lbs
Dustin Ortiz vs. Alexandre Pantoja125 lbs
Dan Ige vs. Julio Arce145 lbs
Matt Bessette vs. Enrique Barzola145 lbs
Maryna Moroz vs. Jamie Moyle115 lbs
Gleison Tibau vs. Islam Makhachev155 lbs

On 221, we have:

  • Luke Rockhold vs. Yoel Romero185 lbs
Mark Hunt vs. Curtis Blaydes265 lbs
Tai Tuivasa vs. Cyril Asker265 lbs
Jake Matthews vs. Jingliang Li170 lbs
Tyson Pedro vs. Saparbek Safarov205 lbs
Damien Brown vs. Dong Hyun Kim155 lbs
Rob Wilkinson vs. Israel Adesanya185 lbs
    A. Volkanovski vs. Jeremy Kennedy145 lbs
Ben Nguyen vs. Jussier Formiga125 lbs
Ross Pearson vs. Mizuto Hirota155 lbs
Teruto Ishihara vs. J. Quiñones135 lbs
Luke Jumeau vs. Daichi Abe170 lbs

That looks much more solid to me in terms of matchmaking. Abe, Ishihara, Pedro and Saparbek, Tuivasa, Hunt, Blaydes gonna bang. There's a debut of very exiting guy in Adesanya which i was waiting for very long time. He can make some waves. Jingliang, Volkanovski, Kennedy are all solid fighters. And on top of that you have Romero vs Rocksalt. Really good card to me in comparison to UFC 220 which has 2 great fights and rest is a filler.

I think they could have cherry picked the best 5 fights from each card and had just the one event. Both 220 and 221 have decent main events and a few good under card fights, but it's spread too thin over two events.

They're both shite tbh. 220 though has a WAY better co-main event though.

Obviously the two title fights carry 220 which will be enough for it to sell. Fight per fight comparison on the undercard would go to 221 but trust me it will not sell like 220.

220 edges it. I'm not impressed massively with either. B level PPV's.

I know.....some of the worst cards on paper turn out to best. If that trend continues, these should be 2 of the best ppvs ever

Yeah that's for sure. I'm not interested in PPV ratings though. There were few FN cards in 2017 which were more exiting than most of PPVs of that year.
