If he is not currently part of the testing pool and fulfilling whereabouts requirements then the policy says he must give 4 months notice prior to returning to competition. If that is true and he is not currently subject to testing then he can not return for UFC 200.

Let me ask my friend who works for USADA.

Yeah, they're giving him anal probe..

BJ was going to fight at 197 and he wouldn't have been subjected for the last 4 months so I'm not sure if they take that rule all too seriously.

I never seriously thought he was going to fight at 200 let alone even be in the UFC. It's weird that GSP left the sport claiming that there wasn't enough testing and that he wouldn't return until there was. Now a lot of fighters that have been know to be clean are getting popped which proves they have made huge changes. Now he's talking about only coming back for fights that are worth it. C'mon GSP just retire or announce your return. I think his new mental obsession is attention.

minds will not be blown--GSP will not return at 200. He'll probably make income while watching UFC 200.

He gets visited by usada in the dark place in his head sometimes.

What constitutes retirement vs taking a long break?

GSP never said he was retired.

Good shout! Didn't know that.

He's probably juicing up whilst out, so he can have his Belfort rejuvenation :)

Come on moderators: Delete my post because I'm telling the truth again :)

Yeah it is kinda weird

- Complains about lax PED testing
- Decision made to move to stricter testing
- GSP retires

Hes not been tested yet, should get numbers again today or tomorrow.

There is room to change it from four months for "exceptional circumstances". At the moment, most testing is starting about 6-8 weeks before the fight, so if he was to return the 4 month may be reduced, but I don't see it being reduced below about 10-12 weeks

The only way I could see it being exceptional is if he was ready to sign on the dotted line outside the four month period and any delays were on Zuffa's part.

GSP never said he was retired.

He has not been up to this point, to the best of my knowledge, a member of the testing pool, and as such, as far as Usada are concerned anyway, he is retired.

As for the semantics of Gsp not saying he was retired, he has been quoted as saying he could return from retirement. Bit hard to return from something you arent in.

I don't want to say he won't be there, but it's doubtful. In fact I would say it's almost a sure bet he won't be there. Of course I was wrong once before. It was weird.

I did say back in march the deadline to inform USADA was looming but ya knows how people are.

BTW i think wada would be testing him since he is canadian.

Wada dont test people.

Tests in Canada would be carried out by the CCES (Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport) On USADA's behalf, tests while he is in the US would be carried out by USADA.

Not weird:
-didn't retire
-better testing didn't occur in earnest until after he stepped away

But, hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good hate-on.
