Shogun vs Anderson
A legend who has fallen from the top of the mountain against a top 20 prospect who is eager to prove himself.

I think this card could be the best of the year. The match-ups all add up to finishes, be it Knockout or Submission. Really looking forward to this! Will be there.

The early prelims and prelims and also Insanely stacked. I don't think there ever was so many good fights outside the Main card.

I can't say I've ever heard any of the Pride fighters suck ass (would be weird if I did), but even if I had, what does that have to do with MMA evolution?

Not really, it seems quite obvious. I've been watching MMA since 2003. THese match-ups are really similar.

The most similar one I think is the Belfort vs Jacare match-up. Belfort even has the Liddell Mohawk now and Jacare is bald like Randy

No, sadly, it really doesn't say anything good. The talent pool seems to be very diluted right now; hopefully it will improve but I am not convinced it will.

Werdum is champ, Maia and Belfort are contenders and all are 38 years old. If you look at the WW and MW division, you clearly see there is A LOT of talent, so the competition and talent pool is not a problem. HW I would agree with you, but the only moment it hasn't been like this is during the Pride days in my opinion.

The Strikeforce takeover really helped to fill in some of the most woefully deficient classes, MW, LHW, and HW, but at this point there are some top guys in each division, and then in most cases, quality drops off dramatically after that.
