UFC 196: Conor McGregor - Anybody, Anytime, Anyplace

I think what people can't stand is how biased and defensive a mcgregor fan tends to be. You guys feel the need to defend a grown man who fights for a living. It isn't hating to state a fact like his only fight with a wrestler wasn't a full camp fighter, or any other fact that brings his greatness into question. Learn to separate opinion from fact and be real about both sides the one you like and don't like.

I know, its crazy how fast-tracked he's been considering he fought one the best wrestlers in MMA who was supposed to derail him and take on the #1 P4P knocking him out in 13 seconds after having two Top 10 KO wins, and a dominant victory over Max Holloway.
A win over a two week notice, out of camp Chad is supposed to be impressive? Chad gassed himself out with his own wrestling in the second round.

Aldo rushed out at the very beginning and got caught. That's an impressive win? He'd break Conor's legs in a rematch, which we know Conor isn't going to accept anymore as he is not going back to 145 again and is already having doubts about fighting at 155 again considering his comments about "not wanting to commit to RDA again."

His win over Holloway was ok.

Overall, Conor is the most overrated fighter in the UFC. The guy has zero ground game and the worst takedown defense I've seen in recent memory.

Good counter puncher, mostly. If more fighters were taught not to over extend against him, Conor would have a really rough time in there. All he's looking always looking for is that counter punch. If he doesn't have that, well, he's got nothing else. His kicks are subpar.

Conor will likely retire at the end of this year with zero title defenses. So much for "GOAT."

The fact is Conor McGregor is a better fighter than Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo. He proved it.

Yes. Aldo hadn't lost in 10 years and he got blown out of the water immediately.

He'd break Conor's legs in a rematch, which we know Conor isn't going to accept anymore as he is not going back to 145 again and is already having doubts about fighting at 155 again considering his comments about "not wanting to commit to RDA again."

Aldo had the chance to fight McGregor and he turned it down. Aldo was healthy, seems he isn't as confident as you might think.

His win over Holloway was great.

FIFY.

Hard for me to see a champion who is undefeated in the UFC, and never being even hurt from strikes as being overrated, but to each their own.

Chad was out of camp last summer and Conor chose him over Frankie. He's not doing the same with Nate. Let's not pretend like Frankie wasn't coming off of 4 consecutive wins. Conor is the duck king. He's been planning to fight Nate for months now and he knew this fight was coming. More active guys like Pettis, Cerrone, and Tony were never even in the equation, and he will never fight Khabib at this point either. Conor's running scared and specifically goes for guys that he researches and finds out they've been out of camp. Conor is being fast-tracked by Dana and it's really obvious.
What would your BS be if Aldo and RDA didn't cancel a couple of weeks before the fight? Conor had every right to not fight and wait for a rescheduled date, but still fought. Yet, guys like you find ways to say he was ducking or scared.

Injuries happen. If you knew anything at all about training hard, you would know this. RDA was forced out due to a nearly broken foot he was told not to apply any pressure to, and yet Conor wants to act funny calling it a bruise. Did you laugh at that "joke" by the way? Frankie is injured too.

I will happily admit Conor defeated Aldo after an actual fight. For now, all he did was catch his mistake in 13 seconds.

There were 50 guys that called the UFC and asked for this fight. Dana said Faber or Diaz?

Lol because Edgar is injured and has been for some time. Edgar accepted the fight at 189 and Conor/the UFC wanted no part of that.
If he fought Edgar at 189 you would just be saying the same shit but about Mendes

You sound silly trying to discredit his wins. Trying to pretending KOing Aldo wasn't impressive is the saddest thing I've ever seen from a Connor hater. I'm not even a fan of Connor could care less about the guy (I do enjoy his fights though).

I not once said anything about Aldo or his confidence or Mendes being better. You're so defensive you automatically go at these points and attack. Lol easy there guy. I said Mendes didn't have a full camp. Conor proved he could beat him once Chad had gassed nothing more. He beat Aldo fair and square. I was saying to your original point that he doesn't duck good wrestlers because he took late notice Mendes. Taking a fight with Edgar instead of moving up or Khabib or any solid wrestler with a full camp because it's the bigger challenge would count as this. He hasn't done it. He avoids the fights that would cement his status as great in the eyes of educated fans.

And by the way this is not a fact: your statement that he is better. That's your opinion. My opinion is that you'll be gone with all the other band wagon fans when he loses and it is shown he was hyped. I don't take this stuff personally or feel any loyalty to any fighter other than enjoying their fights.

Well, he knocked out both.

Also when he loses, yeah I'll still be fan. He's an exciting fighter to watch win/lose/draw.

I know. But he accepted the fight at 189 and Conor didn't want that fight, he wanted Mendes.

Yep and I'm glad he did. I know Edgar beat Mendes but before that fight I wouldn't have picked Edgar to beat Mendes. I always thought Mendes was the better fighter overall. So even me as a fan I still thought Mendes was the tougher match up. Mendes was just more battle tested at FW then Edgar on top of that Mendes second fight with Aldo was much closer then even Edgar got.

Edgar was ready at 189 and they went with Mendes who wasn't.

Cerrone was ready at 196 and they went with Diaz who wasn't.

Sounds eerily similar.

If Conor would have taken the Edgar fight, people would have said the same shit about him ducking Mendes...

Everyone was screaming Mendes would be his toughest opponent at FW..

Khabib is not trying to be stylish, this guy is. Anyway, I think you deserve an ignore, you're scum to me.

That would be great. Ignore me, you're one less shit poster I have to deal with. Bye.

Edgard said NO. He admitted on the MMA hour that he said NO to the fight.

He's afraid and you're insecure.

Conor bless
