if you notice, prelims always have a fight or two that have dudes who are sorta "names". that way people will actually tune in.

makes it a nice warm up for the main card although it's a slap in the teeth if you're getting the PPV

this is why UFC is not good for big name fighters.

If Manny Paquoia was part of the UFC model/system. Pac-man would be fighting in the pre-lims after his losses to bradely and knock-out loss to Marquez.

Instead, because pac-man controls his own destiny, he rebuilt himself with some great wins by always being the MAIN FIGHT on his card...

This the status Kid Yamamoto has built for himself in the time he has been in fighting...

- Munoz & Yamaoto really aren't big stars.
- Yamaoto hasn't fought since February 2012 and hasn't won a fight since 2010.

Pacquiao was a world champ and had a string of victories before those two losses. The comparison is absurd.

Munoz is the most well known so he gets the spot. Both him and Kid's fights are farther up the card then they should be just because of their names.

I'm excited for the Means/Lima fight. That fight should be a war. The Lewis/Potts fight will definitely be entertaining as well

I'm actually happy as hell those fights are on free TV, cause I'm avoiding that PPV like the plague. 60 bucks is not worth it for that card.

it actually makes perfect sense. why put him on the main card? it was once a big PPV draw when you had vitor vs. weidman as the main, rousey vs. cat in the co-main and then jacare vs. romero.

now UFC 184 probably won't be that big of a PPV draw. i'm sure the UFC will make money, but having kid as the co-main of the preliminary fox sports 1 portion of the card might bring in a few fringe mma fans that remember him from his past success. then you have mark munoz that isn't a big draw, but a solid name as the last fight on fox sports 1.

with derrick lews, dhiego lima vs. tim means, kid yamamoto and mark munoz. the fox sports 1 portion should be entertaining and might get decent viewership.

What has Kid done in the last five years to warrant a placement on the main card? He's won one fight in over six years against a no name fighter outside of the UFC.
