At UFC 161, John 'The One' Maguire will be looking to kick start his career in the lightweight division when he squares off against Canadian Mitch Clarke.

Maguire - a self-confessed lazy welterweight - has never looked so good in preparation for a fight - and now, with help from Mike Dolce and the 'Dolce Diet', the doughnuts have been replaced with good quality, wholesome food. On July 15, Maguire 2.0 will be looking to demonstrate to the world that he is a legitimate contender in the UFC's lightweight division.

Well, that's good, if obvious way to go, he looked pudgy and tiny next to guys like Riddle or Hathaway.

Should be interesting, his submission against DaMarques was really cool.

Kinda surprising they're both still in the UFC, though, seeing recent cuts.

About time, he really wasn't a physically intimidating WW.

Good luck to him. He'll at least be fighting huys around his own size. He needs to add some urgency to his game though, he seems far too comfortable when down on the scorecards. Having said that he should beat Clarke, imo who should be 0-2 in the ufc.

At least Mitch got his wish and is fighting a Brit.

Clarke is 0-2 in the UFC

John Maguire is looking in phenomenal shape right now!! I think he can definitely break into the top 10 lightweights within the next year.

Great interview, I liked how it covered loads of topics from his career so far.

Interested to see how he'll do at LW, rooting for him.
