anyways.. Junior has good takedown defense. Cain was 11 of 33. he got the ones that counted though.. but still a good stat.

    JDS got out BOXED

Told everyone out boxing wrestler in Carwin and KO'd BJJ champ in Werdum was pointless.

    ???

When a "boxing wrestler" shoots on you 33 times, your hands are probably going to be at your waist side, anticipating the next shot. The result? Bobble head. JDS is still the better striker. On this day, not the better fighter.

Its amazing how JDS can take 200+ strikes from Cain and not get KO'd.

Let's really look at that TDD number; 10/33.

Amazing work by JDS, but the attempts is Diaz Stockton Slap type cardio output in the fucking HW division!! Now if we add in the strikes, Cain was beyond beastmode in this fight.

I really don't believe there is anything JDS could do to counter that type of output if he cannot match that pace in a third fight.

33 td attempts is rather insane in a hw fight.

good job by jds in defending.

All he could have done, and where I personally feel he screwed up, is wasting so much energy in the sprawl to get back up. If his BJJ was as descent as we were lead to believe, in think he should have pulled guard to breath a little, at least twice in the fight.
i fully understand being underneath Cain is not where you want to be, but being on your knees taking hooks to the temple isn't either. Not a good position.

I think understanding where you are in a fight is what makes Anderson Silva so great.

33 TD attempts and 225 strikes thrown. No wonder he was half dead after the fight. How he didn't completely gas is beyond me.

JDS did a horrible job in defending and lost the fight. His face looked like hamburger.

Yea he can thank the fence for 3 or 4 of those TDs defended.

Cains pace is unreal. Truly. Ppl need to appreciate how ridiculous it is. GSP is known as a cardio freak and puts up similar numbers of strikes at WW. Cain is a HW, he is on another level of cardio as yet unseen in MMA.

Yeah.....he was out of it at that point. But seems he got back in the fight in 4 and 5....landed more sig strikes then Cain, it was Cains pressure that won him the rounds. And he defended 22 takedowns in that fight....most were after he was wobbled. That fight sure toughned JDS up

I'll be honest, I've only seen Highlights of the fight, but from what i saw, JDS looked drunk. Very sluggish and not crisp at all.
