If anyone here knows me, they know I care about fights more than titles. I want to see the best fights, even at the cost of ignoring titles, rankings, and records, or what Luke Thomas would call "divisional maintenance".
But this is neither the best fight, nor a fight that does well for divisional maintenance.
Here's why it's a bad idea:
I'm in favor of Stipe/DC, Alvarez/Conor, Tony getting an interim title, Holloway getting an interim title, TJ/DJ, Cyborg/Nunes, and many more things that have happened that some of you disagree with. But there's no way anyone should be in favor of the UFC making Tyron/Nate.

Here's why it's a bad idea:
- It's a mismatch that Woodley's 80%+ likely to win, as Nate doesn't do well against powerful wrestlers. I want to see competitive fights
- They'd have to pay Nate big money to take the fight, and it isn't like he's a Conor-like draw, so financially this isn't even a huge fight for them
- It's extremely short-sighted, as a Nate loss hurts the Conor/Nate trilogy fight, so medium-term they're likely to lose money on this
- Even if Nate wins, then what? Great, now you have Nate Diaz as champion, who doesn't like management, is tough to get along with, wants lots of money, and won't fight often
- Giving Nate the shot when the top 2 contenders (RDA, Covington) would clearly destroy him (ofc Rafael already has) further shits all over the credibility of the fight.
