So Woodley was recently reported as saying that he believes Wonderboy needs to fight more top guys before a title shot, yet the only top name that he's beaten himself is Carlos Condit (I'll ignore the injury aspect, because it wasn't looking good for Condit either way.) In my opinion to date, his most impressive win is either Koscheck or Kim, and let's be honest neither one of those guys are championship level competitors. So while he's understandably upset about not getting to fight Hendricks, while Wonderboy did, he really doesn't have much more claim to a shot than anyone else at the top right now.

Thoughts?
 
I thought Woodley should have lost to Kelvin... Even though he won, he should fight again anyways. Wonderboy should get the title shot.
 
He's pushing for a title shot because that means more $. It's not about integrity. It's about $$$$$$$$.
 
Well Woodley was ready to fight Hendricks. Not his fault at all that Big Rigg didn't make weight.
 
didn't he duck Lombard ? if he wins his fight with Magny let them both fight each other
 
How can you ignore the injury aspect when Condit would have ko'd Wodley in the later rounds? He was throwing bombs and gasses

I think that Wonderboy should fight Robbie for the title next, while Woodley fights Hendricks next ..

I rewatched Hendricks/WB yesterday, and the UFC would be stupid not to make Lawler vs Wonderboy next. Woodley chose to wait, so let him wait.
 
To be fair

Condit is a nice name on a resume. Johnny beat him to get a title shot.

DHK had only 2 loses and was riding a nice win streak when Woodley KO'ed him.

Koschecks had usually been a good tester for a fighter to see if is championship level.

But WB has some nice wins. Cote, Whittaker, Ellenberger, Hendricks. I'm personally for Lawler vs Maia (after Brown fight) and WB vs Woodley.

If we're talking about current streaks, he's only beaten Kim (solid win) and a zombie Gastelum (I thought he lost that one).

The fact is that he has beaten CC and he would have beaten BR. He (Woodley) deserves the next shot regardless of who you promote. wonderboy really hasnt fought anyone but BR and these day people seem to forget what other fighters have done. I know for a Fact that (unless woodley throws the fight) He'd beat wonder boy.

hasn't woodley fought his way to the top? Now the only reason he isn't getting a title shot has to do with marketability and who stands to gain the most money?

thats not what i saw w hen the fight ended

and he was fighting a less technical lawler than the one that fought rory, looking for the KO only, with overhands. when he used his jab he put condit on queer streets in the 5th

So, what you're saying, is that Woodley deserves a shot more because you think he would have beaten Bigg Rigg, over the guy that actually did beat Bigg Rigg?

Woodley is only on 2-fight win streak ATM, neither wins over Top 5, and the last Top 5 he faced (Rory) embarrassed him.
 
Wonderboy won his recent fights impressively, Woodley has not. I'd much rather see Wonderboy get a shot at the title than Woodley right now. Woodley wins against another ranked fighter, then he gets his title shot.
