He's not a bad picker. He's just a boring picker. It seems like he picks the favorite an overwhelming amount of the time unless the odds are close to even (but then, he's often right). His analysis is pretty top-notch because he has experience training and fighting. Generally speaking I like listening to him on the SRN or his podcast, but one issue I do take with his analysis is the level of aloofness that he forces onto his analysis. He likes to try and remove emotion and favoritism from the equation completely, which, is an understandable goal, to a degree. However, it seems like he takes that goal way too seriously and at times sounds like he's talking about a detached fist or foot throwing exquisite strikes.
On the SRN, my preferred analyst is Jordan Breen. He's around the same level of intelligent analysis (maybe a smidgen less knowledgeable in the striking department, which is Ruebusch's real forte) but more often entertaining to listen to. Besides, he, like me, is a fan of chaos and ridiculousness, which is more fun than just saying the favored one will win.
