hey sherbros didnt know where to post but was planning on upgrading my old tv its a 720p 2011 model, i saw those 2 tvs above both are almost the same value, but one is 4k the other 1080, planning on using it for just movies and my ps4, was wondering if its useless to get the 4k since the ps4 is only around 900-1080p, i also read somewhere that playing it upscaled at 4k causes input lag?

Unless there's something different about 1080 to 4k, upscaling usually sucks. I'd still go with the 4k tv because you'd be future proofed.
There's a big price difference between the two. Is 4k worth over double the price of the 1080 tv to you?

its about $50 more for the 4K which is why Im thinking about the 4K. Im just afraid the 4K will cause input lag with the PS4 unless there is a way to play at regular 1080

Bought a 65" Samsung 4k 3D Smart TV earlier this year and haven't regretted it yet. When it upscales 720p-1080p content, it looks BEAUTIFUL. Running 4k trailers and such looks AMAZING.

I didn't need a 4k TV, but glad I purchased one. If I bought a TV for my living room (which this one was) I would go 4k. If I was buying one for my bedroom that would rarely be used, I would go 1080p (prices are killer if you know where to look).

4k probably won't even be a thing for quite a few years anyhow, at least not TV shows or sporting events. Hell, not many have crept out of 720p into 1080p yet.

Thanks for the input, I also am tempted to go the 4K by my major concern is the input lag, unless there is a way to play the games at regular 1080.

For console games I'd buy a huge end of series plasma. Cheap as fuck and wonderful quality for games and lag.

And movies are a lot better on plasma IMO. Bought myself a 60" set for my birthday. Best purchase this year.

Pull the trigger on the 4k TV it is only 50 bucks more

yeah I heard the blacks and generally the color is better, but Im not really that picky on visuals plus the downside of the heat and more power consumption negates the pro's and LED is not that far of from plasma anymore.

The only reason I'm hesitant on the 4K is the input lag it might do to my gaming.

i have gamed using a 4k it wasn't to terribly bad unless your a pro gamer i wouldn't worry that much

Nah, at the same res I think plasma is a lot better than LED. I have a Plasma TV, Samsungs last, and it looks incredible. I'm only going to change it out once OLED 4k TVs drop to a reasonable price. If I had to choose between a 4k TV or a Plasma, I would pick plasma all over again
