Elections Tulsi Gabbard just (informally) announced she is running for President

I believe you are right, but apparently she is a Modi, and Assad secret agent now.

This is the direction the liberal party needs to take. I would vote for Tulsi over Trump with exuberance.

If they try putting up some Democratic Socialist like Bernie, since Ocasio-Cortez is precluded from running (which the liberal blogosphere happens to already be whining about-- I shit you not), or if they try fielding a far-leftist like Kamala Harris, who the MSM has been tripping over themselves at every opportunity to sell to the American people as one of the most appropriate candidates for the job, I won't sit on the sidelines, again.

I'll take Trump over a socialist.

I have discovered there are many on the progressive left who are sharply critical of her Hindu nationalism as well as her past antipathy towards the LGBTQ movement. This may prove very problematic for her success as a candidate.

Also, it's Bernie's turn. :)
Obama was initially against gay marriage and his later acceptance showed a compassionate approach to hearing others. I think this will actually play well for tulsi. I'm struggling to find anything that is a true concern for me. Sure I don't agree with her on everything but no one agrees with me 100% of the time but me. I trust her for some reason. I never trusted HRC, did anyone? I was a Bernie supporter and am absolutely disgusted with the DNC and the shit they and DWS pulled. So much so I almost didn't vote but I had to try to stop trump so I begrudgingly pulled the string and helped to kept co blue.
I wanted Bernie in 16 too but I'd be on board with tulsi for 2020 no doubt. She will performance better than Bernie in straight debates imo. Her and Beto have a young new and un associated feel possibly Castro too who is about to announce his run live this am.
Castro is a great speaker. See his speech at the DNC.
I don't think the casual voter has any appetite for established politicians, these young candidates have a chance.

I like her. She strikes me as being one of the more sincere politicians. I appreciate her distaste for endless war.

Really? I find her all over the place in her stances..

-She called for more debates between Bernie and Clinton, but refuses to debate her own challengers.

-She's voted for tighter restrictions on immigrants from Syria and Iraq while simultaneously complaining about Trump's travel ban.

-she's running as a progressive, but her views on guns and "radical islam" will cost her a lot of progressive vote.

I don't know tons about Gabbard but she is a sensible candidate, at least on the surface. She comes off as intelligent, she looks good and she's hasn't really embarrassed herself like other potential names, at least not in a way I can think of.

I would probably vote for her over Trump. I doubt it will come to that.

I would say she is not really experienced enough, but I suppose that is no longer a worry.

I dont want some 70yr old geezer running my country.I value her military/life experience more than her political one.

The lack of life experience is part of the issue, though. She's basically accomplished nothing in her life, has a mediocre education, is ethically questionable, and has no relevant experience for the job. It's kind of an insult to the country that she's even running. She's obviously the favorite Democrat of the far right and there appears to be some on the far left who like her despite her being on the right of the party (maybe people just aren't that familiar with her and know her as a Bernie supporter?) so she could be viable, but it would say something pretty bad about the Democratic primary voters if they settle on her. She's better than Trump, though.

Wow Mick.

So what is the difference between Bernie and gabbards economics?

Maybe it would say we are a nation of anti-interventionists jack.

This democratic field is turning into a dumpster fire lmao.

I imagine the serious candidates are sitting it out until 2024. It would be awful for their brand to get shit stomped by Trump their first time out.

Her age and inexperience is definitely her weakest attribute, and I would hope the Democrats could field someone more suitable, as they certainly had one last election with Jim Webb, but LOL at a guy with 64K posts on a Karate forum saying that a member of Congress who has been building her political career since she was 21-years-old while also completing two tours of military duty on behalf of her country (advancing to the rank of Major) has "basically accomplished nothing in her life."

Maybe you'd be more impressed if she was married to someone who had actually accomplished something, making her impressive by association, and was much further to the left.

Are you still a Trumpbot or Trumptard if you'll vote for her instead of Trump in 2020?

Or will the Neolibs & Cons just start calling them Tulsibots and Tulsitards
No.

If we're a nation of anti-interventionists, we'd pick someone with the skill to navigate international conflict in a way that minimizes intervention, not just a pretty face who talks big.
