Why aren’t fighters called out for doing this? The most recent example TJ saying he’s the goat bw and that he already beat Cruz. If you push a narrative enough people will start to accept it’s true. If he wants to be the best bw of all time go and avenge your loss don’t try to rewrite history.
What’s your opinion on fighters refusing to accept they lost years after?

It's probably a factor to why TJ is a world champion and you're posting on Sherdog.

It depends if it's a close fight like a split descion it's not so bad, if it's a first round KO then they are a fool, like Joanna still thinking she's a champ lol

    Your AV is an inspiration.

People would likely do better if they didn't accept defeat so easily. What's so blasphemous about that? Did it it make you insecure?

He arguably won so if he feels he won, so be it. The decision easily could have gone his way so it is fully within his right to believe he beat Dom. Just because 2 judges disagreed doesn't mean it was the right decision.

He can't "go and avenge his loss" because Dominick Cruz fights once every 4 years. Hardly someone who should be considered the GOAT. TJ already has a comparable resume, if not better.

So Ronda was right when she said she was still the champion because in her mind she didn't lose?

Fact checking self promotion in the fight game?

Interesting. I'll run that by the marketing interns.

Remember after Cruz beat faber the last time he said faber will never beat him because he doesn’t focus on why he lost and improve upon that instead he refuses to accept he lost.

Probably why Cruz is the goat bw and tj just chats shit in press conferences

I'd say the narrative that's been pushed more strongly is that Cruz has a clear win here when he doesn't, he has a razor close spilt decision.

His fans are having to cling to it as a proof of his status as GOAT in the division increasingly.

That's what you were reaching for with the OP? TJ has been refusing to improve as a fighter, like Faber, because he believes he won the Cruz fight?

I don't buy. TJ's rate of improvement has been impressive and notable.

No the op means what the op says; if he wants to be considered the best bw he has to beat Cruz, instead of calling out Cruz he’s telling him to get back in line and talking about how he’s already beat Cruz (which he didn’t).

I just don’t understand if tj is trying to cement his legacy why he isn’t calling Cruz out; that’s the win he needs. Instead he’s just making things up

He has the title. He is the best BW. He's constantly beaten the top BWs. Cruz has been waiting for TJ to do so, even when he was champion.

If Cruz wants to prove other wise, he should earn a shot and prove it. Like the champ did.
