Look. I don't really like to use "TDS", even though Im sure I've been guilty of it at some point. But part what makes people use it is because so many people must take anything Trump says in 100% the worst way they can possibly interpret it.
It's like when you've broken up with a girlfriend and now everything you say is some kind of back handed insult to her.
He 100% did not say he would "use the military to attack political opponents". He said it might be necessary for "sick, radical, left lunatics". Now, do you not see a difference between "Political opponents" and "Sick , radical lunatics"? Because thats precisely the point I'm talking about where everything must be interpreted as negatively as possible, even if it's disingenuous.
I think I know what you're gonna say, though. Something about "Well, who do you think he's talking about? Obviously anyone who questions him" or similar.
Look, all you have to do is change "leftist" to "conservative" and put the words in Kamalas or Bidens mouth. So if Kamala says:
"I think a bigger problem is the enemy within. Radical, [conservative] lunatics and that should be handled, if necessary, by the military"
Regardless of whether you'd agree with her or not, you would not be saying "Kamala just threatened to use the military on her political opponents". I think there'd be a not insignificant number of people just saying: "Yeah, jan 6th. Shes right."
