Opinion TRUMP US MILITARY PARADE vs. NO KINGS DAY: SAT JUNE 14th (megathread?)

Looks pretty awesome from the prep stuff I’ve seen.

On brand for the left to protest a celebration of our troops though
Is that what's it's about, celebrating the troops?

It's the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. Kind of a big deal, unless you're one of those goofs who thinks patriotism is cringey.
Does having the best killing machines make you feel proud? There is plenty of reason to be proud of America besides how good we are at killing people. It's not like the army has always been used for good, just ask the Vietnamese or Laotians.

Anyway. seems much more about Trump than the Army. When someone wraps their national pride around our ability to kill people, certainly that is far worse than "cringy". It's toxic.

Further, the US army is good simply because we spend the most money by far. Certainly other countries warriors have proven superior. Just take a look at Vietnam. Thing is, no other country can match up dollar for dollar.

Have a ceremony on the WH lawn or something. Present some medals. This Kim Jong Un shit is tacky and a bad look, especially when you came in guns blazing about eliminating waste. Air shows are fun, though.
Yeah, the annual Jones Beach Memorial Day air show by me is pretty cool. They practice their aerial maneuvers for a few days in advance of it too. The jets fly so close to my house the house actually shakes.

That's all you think the Army is good for? Just killing people?

That's only because everything within 50 miles of wherever Trump is at the moment outrages you.

Sucks to suck. Ain't nobody apologizing for being the top dog. You guys think real life is a Disney movie and it ain't. This goes all the way back to when we were monkeys and it all came down to who had the biggest stick.

Im seeing this a lot. Whats no kings? Im guessing a card game, but why is trump involved?

The fuck is the point of this parade anyway? Just a massive waste of money. Really not beating the wannabe dictator allegations with this one.
We've had many military parades overseen by the President of the US in the past. This is not a new phenomenon.

- I read that are people protesting Trump. To be honest, this loks like something from The Mercenaries games i played on PS 2

Not at all man. Our proud men and women, well maybe it's just men now, our currently "liberating" LA from it's duly elected mayor and governor. What a day to celebrate the army.

Definitely the US has the top military thanks to the American tax payer.

I've generally found that maga types love being bullies and a lot see our military as an extension of that. Sort of the might makes right crowd.

The taxpayers would have to refix the roads after the tanks rollover them

Not necessarily, if there running on rubber and not all metal tracks, they ground pressure on a main battle tank is kept low for good reasons, I very much doubt you'd have to worry about issues.....

<puhlease>

Read they were going to lay down metal plates on certain areas

Nah. We've been over this. Actual vets think it's retarded.

Anyone who claims to have friends who are thrilled about this, should just remind them that part of the oath they swore was to be silent professionals and not seek, nor expect praise.

And that's if we're still pretending this is about the US Army, and not a draft dodger wanting to look like his favorite dictators.

I live in Seaford so I hear the Jets flying around when practicing myself. I've been to it twice in my life.
